Hypo:

You could be assured 100%, by whatever metric you are applying when making the above statement, that similar benefits would be true for the US if it were colonized by China in an identical way to the colonization parameters of England during their empire would you vote YES if given the choice?

Hey, Baton Rouge, the Northshore, St Francisville and anywhere else in the Florida Parishes was part of the British Empire. Nuff said.

Define better.

India certainly isn't better off and its society is definitely much worse off than before colonization.

Sure, the British are responsible for all of the technological advances the past century that made the world a better place. Authoritarian government is always the solution.

Are you arguing that the British didn’t rule with an authoritarian iron fist?

Friend of mine in college was from India. He told me that they talk badly of when the English ruled but admitted that everything they have in regard to infrastructure was due to the English and that they were better off. Heck, most of the countries in that region still use the same trains that the English brought there.

Very interesting.

I was tossing out India more so because I knew there were technologically advanced, if not politically antiquated empires in the sub continent. But I have no doubt that the technological, educational, and social advances introduced as a result of the British empire colonizing India resulted in significant positive aspects for that country.

How did the British manage to take over so many people spread over so much of the world? More modern weapons and battle tactics?

They had an absolutely elite navy and controlled the seas, which was the most cost effective, safest, and cheapest means of international trade.

They also lied. Like a frick ton. They straight up lied to everyone about everything and would double cross any nation that wasn’t european

I recently heard someone say that geographically smaller countries colonized outside their borders (England, France, Netherlands) whole massive countries essentially colonized inside their borders (Russia, China, the US) when industrialization happened.

what the British did with the partition of India is an absolute disgrace and they have a large amount of responsibility for all of the wars fought between India and Pakistan

Many African countries were exploding in a positive manner until the British relinquished rule...then they turned to shite again

This.
India is a world player because it adopted and adapted British ways.
African countries that weren't so bad off went to complete and utter shite after the Brits left.
Former colonies that rejected British style government and some cultural adaptations have failed hard.

Others that managed to adapt and amalgamate British customs into their own native culture have done well. Singapore, Hong Kong until China took over, etc.

One of the few Latin American nations that generally does well is Belize, formerly known as British Honduras.

When it comes to global advancement from imperial domination, Britain blows Rome, China, Macedonia, Mongols, and everyone else out the water.

The British revolutionized government, travel, trade and commerce, banking, standardized time, science, industry, and most aspects of the modern world that we take for granted.

When the Leftist dipshits eventually win out and get us to reject Western Civilization (the most advanced aspects of which come from the Anglosphere- of which the USA is a component), we will enter a new Dark Ages.

I am an Indian. I think India would be much better off if British (and other) colonizers never colonized India. If you are interested here is an interesting video which counters your original premise.

This is also forgetting they turned Burma (Myanmar) into the one of the longest civil wars in history at the same time

As in they have been in a continuous civil war since the day after British rule ended in 1948 because of how it was handled

This is also completely ignoring the giant disaster the British turned the Middle East into after WWI
