My wife served her country every bit as much as i did, guess you don't understand the sacrifices military spouses make. And kids for that matter.

There are definitely some Army wives like that.

Not saying that was your wife, but that's the first thing that jumped into my mind. From my experience, they are usually officer wive's who get pissed when you don't salute their car.

I can't believe people are so up in arms about our national anthem and such. Patriotism lives in your heart.

I think people are tired of the result of not being up in arms on otherwise petty issues, which is the prog/left creating a false narrative that their views represent the nation, which leads to the crazy shite that's been happening for several years now.

So yeah, in present times, voices need to be heard, people that previously wouldn't need to start speaking out more and not be shamed into remaining silent.

What? Did we actually try chilling the frick out, and did I miss it?

Cause I can't remember any point in the last 15 years when Anne Coulter wasn't talking about liberals killing Christmas or ruining America. I also can't recall a point when Al Franken wasn't explaining how Republicans were murdering poor people.

Neither side has tried not being up in arms, it's the default setting for both.

I retired as a Colonel and my wife's best friend was married to a Corporal. She didn't /doesn't give a shite about any of that. In fact the opposite, she would get mad if people treated her differently because of it.

Sounds like the wive's of the officers I went on a MEU with. My wife (I was a SSgt) spent most of the deployment spending time with them. They were all really down to earth and my wife related to them better than the enlisted wives.

It was more of what I saw around base. Even on Foster folks did it.

Any of y'all know where I can get some good deals inn MREs?
I think I was the only one in my platoon who liked those things.

That was one part of the Army I thought was stupid. I didn't insist on being referred to by rank when I was out of uniform, I didn't care if people saluted me or not. In fact my people learned pretty quickly that I preferred that work was not interrupted just because I entered a room or what have you.

I had no problem having a beer with enlisted men, or socializing with couples who were enlisted. Just dumb.

I put my pants on one leg at a time just the same as the lowest recruit.

I straight up dove into someone's room one time to avoid evening colors. The struggle was real.

This is what gets me about all of this. Depending on your opinion, people automatically think you are a "leftist" or from the right.

I am a moderate Republican.. closer to being independent and my thoughts are, while I show respect during the National Anthem, it doesn't bother me if people decide to kneel or whatever during it. Me getting angry over it isn't going to change anything and it doesn't help the situation. And free speech is free speech.

When I go to LSU games, during the national anthem there are people who do not remove their hats. It's not something I would do, if I have a hat on I automatically remove it, but I don't think that means those people do not love their country.

When I was stationed in Oki & Lejune, every time colors would come on, it seemed like most folks would run under cover so they wouldn't have to stand at attention & salute.

That still goes on. I'm stationed at Pearl Harbor and it happens all the time. I've even been guilty of it more than once.

But if I'm caught by colors I don't run to get inside. I stand at attention and salute. I just generally try to be inside when morning and evening colors go off.

I won't criticize the Kneelers because I want them to increase their numbers and continue to kneel during the National Anthem.

Bro that chicken pesto pasta MRE was the shite.

The Santa Fe rice was pretty good too along with the chili mac. I personally loved the turkey jerky that took you 6 hours to chew and make it safe to swallow.
