When I was stationed in Oki & Lejune, every time colors would come on, it seemed like most folks would run under cover so they wouldn't have to stand at attention & salute.
I occasionally saw that happen. People were hemmed up if they were caught. It was nowhere near "most" and I would be very surprised if that were accurate for Camp Lejune.

Taps I would argue would actually bring soldiers out from inside of their Barracks at midnight and salute the flag when it was played every night.
I'll go ahead and go on record as never having left my barracks room late at night to stand at attention for Taps. Never even heard of anyone doing that.

Keep stereotyping and smearing your political opponents.
Lol at stereotyping what I lived everyday. Chances are you will rarely see honorably served/serving vocal vets, because those that serve honorable are professionals (see Alejandro Villanueva).

Lol at stereotyping a poster. You don't know my political beliefs.

You do understand that if you're caught running inside not trying to salute or stand at poa during reveille, colors or taps by anybody that is a couple ranks higher than you that you would get fricked up on a Marine Corps base?
I don't believe your assessment of "most folks" and if it was "most folks" it was probably all you pog dumbasses anyway. Grunts have a little more respect for things like the flag.

The first time I had flag detail in Germany I was amazed at how many German civilians outside the gate would stop and wait for the bugle to finish playing.

I am a retired 1SG and if anyone in my company did that, they knew they were screwed. Remedial PT and on every bullshite detail until I got tired of seeing theor ugly mug. If it ever happened again, it would have been a company grade Article 15, but it never did.

The anthem for fans and players is 16 times per year.
(Full Disclosure: Saints' Season Ticket Holder Since 2006 and I haven't been to a Saints' preseason game since the 1990's)

I find it highly unlikely that you were stationed at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, but are unable to spell it correctly.
He may have been too busy eating crayons to actually learn how to spell it correctly

It's one thing to wait inside. Almost everyone has done that. It's another to run and hide.

stand at attention for the anthem
I wish Americans would learn they DONT place the hand over the heart during the Anthem! Crowds of people look stupid with their hands on their hearts and sound stupid complaining about players taking a knee when they are also NOT DOING IT CORRECTLY!

I never ran, but if I saw that it was getting closer to 8am I walked a little faster. Usually we were in formation anyways at that time so there was no way of running/hiding.

What are you talking about? It's in the US Code that you should place your hand over your heart unless you are military in uniform.

Link? The US Flag Code states:
quote:
§171. Conduct during playing During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should render the military salute at the first note of the anthem and retain this position until the last note. When the flag is not displayed, those present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed there.

Next time spell Lejeune correctly, so you don't embarrass us on message boards. The whole God Damn world thinks we eat crayons and are borderline retarded- let's not perpetuate that.
ETA: And don't you frickin shite talk taco rice. That shite is a revelation. Also, "Texas" was a baller arse restaurant out near Schwab as well. Hope you made it out there, baw.
