So sorry for your loss ... I'm 45 and rue the day that it's "my turn". It's going to suck beyond belief I know.

Blessings to you and your family.

Sorry for your loss.

I am sure he was a special person.

Cherish the time I spend with my Dad and so glad he is still around

Very sorry to hear that for you. Lost my Dad a bit over 12 years ago a few months before the birth of my first son. Thankfully he knew about him for a few days, but it's impossible not to link those two things together even today.

It gets better, like all things do, as time moves on. These are a part of the last few lines of the eulogy I gave for my dad. Even today, I can't read this without welling up. I hope there's something in there that can be of help to you.

I have been told that services like this one are designed to help friends and family say goodbye. I have no intention of doing so. Too often when we lose a friend or relative we allow them to drift away quickly in our minds, becoming anonymous faces in old photographs. Please do not let that happen this time. Tell your stories and laugh about the good times and weep for the sad. Spend time looking at your old photo albums, but always remember. We simply never know how much time we have with the ones we love...so do not spend it carelessly. Take time, and tell them how you feel...make the time, because you'll never get it back.

There is so much more I have to share with you, Dad. There will be so many more moments in my life when I look around for your guidance and support...I hope to find it hidden deep inside myself. Somehow, I have a feeling you were able to place it there for safe keeping. And I know, that in August with the birth of my son, you will be there in some way. And knowing you, you will probably be there early.

Sorry for your loss. I lost my dad back '94 to cancer. I think about him every day. It will get easier as time passes.

sorry for your loss (truly). Always sucks to lose a parent even in old age.

Did your dad donate his organs for transplant or his body to the medical school at LSU? just asking.

Man, I'm so sorry to hear this. I haven't lost any parents but my dad has lost both. He swears it's something you absolutely never get over - you just learn to deal with it. My prayers are with you and your family. Know that you're suffering more than he is now. We're all just passing through to a better place.
