I absolutely do not believe people on here haven't had a couple of beers or a drink at dinner and then driven home. Or go to tailgates or crawfish boils and drink for a bit and then decide to wait it out until you don't feel drunk. But you have no idea what your actual BAC level is. You may be pretty sure you're below .08 but I guarantee 90% of the people on this board, unless they completely abstain, have driven with alcohol in their system. It may not be .13 but jeez get off your high horses

Yep. I can guarantee 90% of people on here who do drink have driven above the legal limit.

Dumb frick. You didn't do your buddy a favor. He needs help, not a pass.

Well that's the problem here. At 0.13 this guy wasn't just a little buzzed, and he wasn't blackout drunk. He knew damned well he shouldn't have been driving.

0.08? yeah, maybe you say "meh" no big deal that he got off, but nobody wins when guys like the OP's pal get a pass.

The limit doesn't change the way a guy feels if he blows 0.13. He'd still know he was too intoxicated to drive.

it's an arbitrary figure, years ago the Navy did a study on the effects of alcohol on pilots(in the sim,) everything from sober to blotto, the best performances were by guys in the 6-8 beer/mixed drink range

Yeeaaaaah....I'm gonna need a link on that

Having a hard time believing that 6-8 drinks makes it easier to successfully place a 20 ton jet on a moving object the size of a couple football fields.

We're talking about an amount of alcohol that makes it difficult/impossible for the average dude to walk a straight line while reciting the alphabet. You might be OK driving your kids around with that guy in the road, but I'm not.
