Yeah, me and the ole lady will be looking for a place soon, probably rent for a year or two before buying. South City is awesome. Haven't met anyone that's lived there that said they didn't like it. I'm in the Lindenwood park area.

And the food scene is super underrated. Lots of great stuff going on with food, beer, spirits, everything. It's just too bad the country only sees Ferguson and the Rams leaving.

I really was thinking too short term in that situation.

Pumped to be back in SEC country. No one here really seems to give a shite.

Mizzou started to suck arse right when I got here so its been 100% cards all the time.

i've lived in monroe, baton rouge, new orleans and houston.

took about 4 1/2 seconds to realize after visiting i wanted to live the rest of my life here.

and its not even close.

wait until you see how easy it is to buy a ticket 30 minutes before the basketball/baseball/football game and move around until you're at mid court, behind the catcher, on the 50 yard line 4 rows up.

its freaking crazy how easy it is to catch LSU play here.

beer

Forgot about this. Besides maybe out west, I'm not sure there is a better micro beer scene in the country. I mean that. It easily rivals Chicago and Los Angeles from first hand experience.

Sooo many damn beers fests and new things coming out of 4hands, schlafly, civil life and UC. I know I'm forgetting a few as well.

Look, now you're getting me all sentimental and shite..

Ha. Just trying to find some new places to check out and hopefully sell some people on the idea of visiting the Lou.

STL certainly has some cool shite going on. Food scene is very underrated here

South City is the best area in St. Louis now. I consider it one of the best food scene out there.

Nashville's is nice, but it's all fusion--give me Guido's on the hill or Russel's on Macklind any day of the week.

When I lived in St. Louis, Maplewood was a place I always ended up going despite living in Tower Grove. Strange Donuts was fantastic, and they had a couple of bars and restaurants there that were pretty good. Loved living in Tower Grove. Lots of good food in the city.

Lafayette Square has some great stuff. A few new bars coming in and if you like bloody's you have to do Squires on the weekend. Best bloody bar I've ever seen.

Planter's house and Square one are also awesome there. See there ya go, another micro brewery right there I forgot.

BCD for the win man. I don't know where to start with the BBQ. I just hit Sugarfire downtown that just opened. Its incredible and its one of the cooler spaces I've ever seen.

As a Vandy person would you say that is negative?

I don't imagine the undergrad scene to be quite as bad as all the rest of the SEC. Is that accurate?

I just mean full blow frat laps and general debauchary all the time? Don't get me wrong, that was me 8 years ago, but trying to avoid living right in that. People are there to actually learn is my assumption. Plus a much more prominent grad school population?

I like Planter's House drinks, but food there has gone way down hill.

I'll have to check out Squires.

Prepare for disappointment with the Nashcille BBQ scene. The only place I really liked was The Slick Pig in Murfreesboro. STL has muh better BBQ and a larger variety of restaurants.

Not really. The frat houses and the on-campus housing are more on the west end side of campus. Hillsboro Village has a mix of students/professionals. It's pretty convenient to a lot of places.

Antioch

I actually live in Antioch more towards Brentwood. It's not too bad where I'm at. I have a 3 bedroom townhouse with a garage for $1,100 a month. Only downside is the traffic on 24 and being a little far from the cool stuff.

Oh and to add Nolensville is a place that's up and coming. It's a neat little town that's still pretty affordable to live in. Best part is they have a Martens BBQ.

No amount of money would be worth it for me to take that I-24 rush hour commute every day. I can't believe how bad it's gotten.
