Moving in May, will be working in Franklin but want to live in the city proper and not overly concerned about the commute, can wake up early and use gym/happy hours to beat worst traffic.

27, singleish, and have visited a few times. I've got a place from a co-worker that is buying a house lined up in Hillsboro Village, close to Vandy but not sure how studenty it is? I lived in Fayetteville for grad school and it got pretty old being around so many undergrads as an old head. I imagine Vandy prb isn't as bad but just curious..

I've heard Germantown and West End are cool and also East Nashville is getting cool. Glad to finally get back below the MDL.

I'm big on bars and restaurants being close, what say you guys that know the area well?

You're going to love it. Being 27 and single and employed is perfect.

Gulch seems a little uptown Dallas for my taste. I've heard good things but I think I'm a couple years past that scene tbh. East Nashville is starting to sound ideal.

Right off 65, pet food company...

If you have the money then the Gulch is the place to be, I have some good friends that live there as well as some Titans football players. East Nashville and West End are also legit. All of Nashville is awesome. If it were me though, I'd live in Franklin just to save some money, but you are you and that's for you to decide.

Also, Nashville is getting a Top Golf so that's a plus.

Nashville and Denver were the only places I'd logically move besides back to NWA which I'm still too young for.

Excited as hell for it and it just feels right. STL has been "ok" but after 1.5 years, it's def. not where I want to be. Nasvhille seems like a long haul kind of place based on the few visits and what all my friends there say.

I wondered if it's Doanes but they are in Brentwood, I worked for Windy Hill Pet Food Co. and left when Doanes bought them out.

I'm getting a pretty big bump and could "afford" most of those but I also shy away from being a rent rich, cash poor uptown Dallas type.

I'm with you on saving money, I'd like to buy a place by 30 and Nashville is def. pricey. I want to live in the city for at least a couple of years while I've still got the legs for it.

Franklin and Brentwood seemed insanely nice during my interview. I hear a ton of the music stars live around that area with ranches and what not.

Thanks for the info fellas.

It's a pretty big CPG, they make a lot of candy etc..This will be my 2nd CPG move in my career, I'm turning into somewhat of a whore.

Not really though, this was too good to say no to and seems like the long term career move I've been looking for location/company wise. At least thats what I said in the interview.

Franklin/Cool Springs is probably the best to live in Nashville. Why would you move to other shite hole area and deal with traffic every single day?

? Sorority houses? This is why I'm tentative on Hillsboro. I tend to shy away from being an old head tool like that.

franklin is perfect for after you are married and have kids you want in the best schools in the state but unless you just like living in the country you probably don't want to live there now being young & single.

you cant go wrong anywhere; i ride my bike in the "worst" areas of the city and feel completely safe.

great town. great outdoor activities too.

The traffic is real and it sucks. With 40, 24, and 65 crossing near downtown.

I lived in LA for two years right out of school. Doesn't bother me that much and I'm fine working around it. Wake up early, go to the gym after work, usually a pretty good strategy....

I do realize some people can't stand it though so I appreciate the heads up.
