What do you mean by this?

If you go to a great private school you're probably going to have a free ride to LSU so you get a return on your investment by not having to pay for college.

I am saying most jesuit and sps grads don't get a free ride to lsu.

Free ride as in TOPS or something additional? Pretty much everyone gets TOPS.

Very few of those kids go to LSU who go to the more expensive private schools in NOLA. They tend to go out of state or end up at Tulane if they stay in state.

Tops doesn't cover all expenses.

Like 99% of kids from LA who get into LSU are on tops unless they lose it due to bad grades.

I failed to mention the fact that most of us had siblings, so 20k for 2 kids= 40k a year!

I was a budget friendly kid. Did my parents a favor and kept getting kicked out of private schools, so I ended up in a public school

probably around 150-200k. Im guessing the schools that are in the 20k probably 250 and up"

I would say in my childrens class the min income a parent makes who sends: one kid is probably $200k, 2 kids 250k, and three or more 300k plus.

Cowoker of mine has a child graduating from Brother Martin next year. He estimates he has spent 90k on his one kid's education (I think k-12).

Edit: He is divorced. I am not sure if that is total expense or just his share.

90k is nothing. That's a few normal cars or 1-2 nice cars over a child's 18 years of education. Which is more important?

Not saying always go private, but it shouldn't necessarily be about cost. I went to dunham and had plenty of families that were obviously above median income in Baton Rouge but we're "wealthy" by the standards of people who aren't poor.

Yep, that's the scale but when you have multiple, one of them is always changing to the next scale and the bill goes up.

2 semesters per year.....bus service is $700 per, technology fee, lunch is $5/day

All that is NOT included in tuition.
