And also years past. Full disclosure I spent my vast majority of childhood in Port Neches Texas. Small town and bible thumping (no liquor liscences) meant all we ever had was Sonic, DQ, and Pizza Inn. Not even Pizza Hut. A trip to Lubys was a big deal because you used a cloth napkin.
It's all life experience and perspective.

i've never been a server nor have i asked my server-historied friends of their stories, so i can't comment on the veracity of the comments. but if they are true and this applies to the larger point, then it's not racist at all

Looks like admins are cleaning it up. There was definitely some out of line comments posted by ndtiger(think he was the one who replied to slow Flo saying all black ppl were naturally lazy).

Good. If people are really being shitheads they should clean it up. I think it needs to happen more often in these race threads.

Idk what's more intolerable, the average black table with a party of five or more in a restaurant, or your average douche waiter who holds customers personally responsible for their guaranteed minimum wage- newsflash clown, no one buys that you "only" make 4 bucks an hour on slow nights, everyone knows your employer is responsible for making up the difference.

This thread is how I imagine a thread on white flight would have went in the 70s... just liked everyone had a reason for moving lawfully, all these businesses closed lawfully, but it creates an overall effect that rivals the worst in racism. These businesses couldn't have closed next weekend without major events on the schedule? Not including Walk-ons if their sewer issue is legit, but some of these businesses don't have legit issues.
