I could be wrong, but they had some issues regarding charging the dominos thug and he is back on the street. If it wasn't him, it was somebody involved in one of those high profile kurders. I'll have to look for a link when not on my phone

The DA fricked up royally and he was going to be released but a federal magistrate found an excuse to keep him penned up like the feral animal he is, thankfully.

We could probably actually start with convicting people and making them spend a decent amount of time in jail. The conviction rate is like 40-50% for felonies, and somewhere around 10% for murders IIRC. What isn't reported is how the perps were sentenced. Most of them plead out for lessor or reduced sentences to just get it over with. The prosecutors love that because they get their conviction rates up (still well below national average), and don't really have to do anything. OPP is also a fun house. Maybe shipping some inmates to different jails/prisons is another answer.

frick, we can put those guys to work fighting coyotes in City Park and filling in potholes in Lakeview. Forced labor or lockdown, two choices.

That dude pretends to be some nerd from here each week.

He pretended to be Nitro the other day in a Nola comments section. That's a federal offense.

Lol, nice try mitch. This is absolutely about uptown. Nobody gives a shite about ghetto places in central city or the East getting robbed. Although I wouldnt be surprised if the perps live in Central City or the East.

At least you're not the one being blind to it. 3 people can be killed in the east or central city and he says nothing but a uptown bar in a nice area getting robbed is too far.

And this attitude is why the crime continues to trickled into uptown.if u can nip it at its genius why should anyone think they are safer, especially with that cities geography. As long as the inner city is side by side with the country clubs in Nola, this will happen unless the rich and privilege start to give a damn (and the folks in the crime laden neighborhoods) about what goes on around them.

It's a challenge and perhaps people are too lazy, selfish, ego-centric ("I couldn't possibly be contributing to this problem, I pay taxes!"), ignorant to see it as such. It would be a very laborious and selfless effort to care more but ultimately, I think it would do more good.

I would rather Mitch help clean up the inner city first and help get it going on the right path before panicking and succumbing to some rich folks getting robbed. That doesn't address the root and only worsens the problem in the long run

I agree about nipping it at its genius, but damn I sure would like it if they put all the projects and section 8 out in the east.

Christ. This whole fricking post is exactly what is wrong with the inner-city mindset. No one can fix this but you. Your post is littered with an underlining hate for the "rich and privileged" and it's sickening. They're not forcing these shitty people to have kids and then not treat them like decent human beings so that they grow up to be shitty people themselves. You should be especially embarrassed by the bold text. No fricking blame on the assholes creating these shite heads or the shite heads themselves. You're calling for a local city mayor to take on generations worth of frick ups.

What exactly do you propose to do to fix the inner city? Get going on the right path? WTF? It's up to the people to follow the right path. They can't and won't because it's all part of their culture.

Frankly, I don't fricking care when people kill each other ion the ghetto (whether it's central city, the east, lower 9th, etc). They chose that shite. They can stop it if they want to, but it's more fun to act like fricking animals and steal, deal, and take what they want. So frick them. Yes, it is more important when they start doing that shite in better neighborhoods and robbing businesses and their clients. Why? Because it just is. Because those people in those neighborhoods do not chose to live like animals and kill people and rob and steal.

And all this bullshite about how "we" need to create new industries and jobs - newsflash - the "people" doing shite like this don't want those jobs and people who give jobs usually don't want to give them jobs.
