The debt crisis was created by Brown's predecessors. There is no dispute that Brown has been an excellent financial manager. None.

Why would any high school senior want to waste some of the best years of their lives dealing with bullshite and protests?

Even an 18 year old, I believe, can wrap their head around that.

Keg parties? Frat parties? Nope. Protests and possible riots. A dwindling population of female students as well.

Only thing that would pull enrollment back up is rock bottom tuition. And then it would still need to be a couple years after this calms down.

Based on what statistical research? When has the minimum wage been increased by 50%?

When he's spending more than the worthless stains on our country are bringing in, I would argue, there is some dispute.

Per Robert Reich: "A $15/hour minimum is unlikely to result in higher prices because most businesses directly affected by it are in intense competition for consumers, and will take the raise out of profits rather than raise their prices. But because the higher minimum will also attract more workers into the job market, employers will have more choice of whom to hire, and thereby have more reliable employees – resulting in lower turnover costs and higher productivity."

Mr. Reich of all people should know better. As President Clinton's Secretary of Labor he was instrumental in the "Luxury Tax" imposed early in the Clinton Administration. There in effect was a 'surcharge' added to expensive automobile, boats, etc. As usual, the seemingly 'fair' liberal tax policies failed miserably. All that happened was an inordinate amount of consumers suddenly realized these potential purchases were indeed "luxury" items and decided against them after the tax went through. Consequently employers of these companies started laying people off -- generally the lower paid folks.

Reich's ideas and sound bites sound good on MSNBC,CNN and interviews on the Today Show and other Fantasy Land outlets. But they fail miserably in the real world.

One of Brown's predecessors was Brown himself. He WAS, and IS part of the problem. The California legislature has been decidedly Democrat for decades, Governor Moonbeam didn't inherit a mess of others' making, he helped make the mess, and is now reaping what he's sown.

If I am not mistaken, when signing the legislation recently he said something to the effect that "this doesn't make sense, but it feels good to do..." knowing he was wrong, but not caring. This is the epitome of the Left arguing and basing everything on feelings, rather than on facts, data, empirical evidence or rational reasoning.

Kind of like how Mrs. Clinton is all in favor of banning firearms "if it saves ONE life...." while in the next breath supporting Planned Parenthood, and other causes that take almost 3,000 lives each and every day. It's emotion. The Left's entire message is emotion with a very draconian, power-hungry drive to control society in their image.

Bull. shite.

Look at the price hike every time minimum wage is raised. I worked at Popeyes in high school. A 12 piece with 6 biscuits and 2 sides was $12-$16. After minimum wage it jumped to $20ish. Now? Good luck getting chicken there for a family for less than $40.

Robert Reich:

quote:

Over the years America has decided that certain kinds of jobs – jobs that were done by children, or were unsafe, or required people to work too many hours, or below poverty wages – offend our sense of decency.

So we’ve raised standards and lost such jobs. In effect, we’ve decided such jobs aren’t worth keeping.

Even if a $15 an hour minimum wage risks job losses, it is still the right thing to do.

So basically if you end up losing your job then you just need to take one for the team.

I don't eat at McDonald's. But, I would be glad to a reasonable increase in order to be sure that workers are reasonably compensated.

No one is going to go broke over the small increase in prices, if any, that would take place.

Per Robert Reich:

"A $15/hour minimum is unlikely to result in higher prices because most businesses directly affected by it are in intense competition for consumers, and will take the raise out of profits rather than raise their prices. But because the higher minimum will also attract more workers into the job market, employers will have more choice of whom to hire, and thereby have more reliable employees – resulting in lower turnover costs and higher productivity."

If you think that prices for goods will be reasonable for businesses who have to pay $15 an hour, you are delusional. For example, look at the price of gas to the price of oil. when the price of oil goes down, the price of gas goes down...slowly. When the price of oil goes up, the price of gas goes up...rapidly. It is a fact, margin of profit drives the economy, not the utopian, socialist, let's-give-everybody-high wages-so-we-can-feel-good about-ourselves bullshite. Companies will have to layoff workers, consumers will pay more for goods, skilled workers will the demand to be paid more, and the value of a dollar will be less. So you better watch what you wish for, you may not like it.

Yes but for different reasons. (Sorry Heather, you're on the right side of the argument but promoting a dumb point, admirable but dumb).

A less employable work force results in innovation. Give McDonald's workers more money, and boom, we get McDonald's robots. You know where they still use push lawnmowers and out of date computers, India and Pakistan, where they also don't value human labor.

Raise the minimum wage through the roof and watch innovation take off. We'll have to deal with a 60% unemployment rate soon but that's another conversation.

Good. Mizzou deserves everything they have coming to them for being a pussy administration by caving to the SJW's. For the record, SJW's are ruining this fricking country.

bc the girls believe it's for noble causes, and the guys see the girls protesting. let's be honest, twitter hashtags have killed the Republican Party for voters under 30.

i mean look at Bernie Sanders. largely millenials are feeling like they're making a difference by supporting and voting for him. So what if he's going to lose; just the political power of the millenials is causing Hillary to be whom she wasn't before to earn their vote.
