why wouldn't they just hang around the boat? This tells me that they aren't alive.

I agree

These kinds of searches are like the proverbial needle in a haystack deal. Planes are looking for two people with just upper body profiles and possibly a 3' cooler and two life jackets. This isn't exactly a big target. Waves out there just give off false visuals when they break and the ocean is full of seaweed and trash on the surface to sort through. I thought that when they were not found with the boat that was a clue they were not going to be found.

and at this point, if they were just floating in the water, hypothermia & sharks would have killed them by now unfortunately.

Sad stuff!

WPTV shared a video that popped up on my FB and it shows some other boaters that happen to film Fridays conditions as they were heading back

there boat is much bigger so these kids used poor judgment

I am trying to find the link as we speak on their website but not having any luck

I think it very likely that there were 2 life vests on the boat, and one was found with the boat.

The Coast Guard spokesman tried to delicately handle and avoid a direct answer so that he didn't put anyone through any more unnecessary anguish over who might have the 1 vest, etc.

Also trying to keep as much optimism as possible under the circumstances. Especially the morale of those actually searching.

As to your comment on the parents wanting the boat to capsize, my only response to you is that you share very similar parenting capabilities as these unfortunate ones.

Maybe they got bounced out of the boat by a large wave and didn't have the kill switch engaged so the boat got away from them.

How would you possibly know my parenting capabilities based on me asking if you if the parents wanted the boat to capsize? Remember, you speficially said it was not an accident because the parents let them go out there, which by definition means you think the parents intentionally let them out so the boat could capsize, otherwise it would be...wait for it...an accident.

But again, tell me more about my parenting capabilities...

I have a bigger boat than those boys and I would have turned back as well. Actually, I wouldn't have even put the boat in the water that day unless it was inshore and even then that storm that blew through would have sucked.

I hadn't seen that video yet. I saw another one on palmbeachpost.com that showed somebody filming that squall rolling by the lighthouse. It looked nasty.

The guy driving probably freaked out when the storm started, and could have been going too fast.

You have proven already incapable and not worthy of an explanation or comprehension of it.

It doesn't really work like that. They saw the storm coming. They just don't appear. Who knows but there are several scenarios whereby they couldn't handle the situation.

not to get involved in this but this is something my dad would say when I'd question his logic. Then I'd be sent to my room.

The fisherman said they headed right into the squall. When his adrenaline kicked in, there is no telling what he did.
