Might be moving to Kansas City

Looks like I'll be going to Fort Leavenworth for a year, I always avoid living too close to whatever base I'm stationed at, for those familiar with K.C. what are the best places to live / party / see?

Check out Parkville, MO if you are willing to live 30 minutes from the Fort. I've never lived there, but I always thought it was one of the cooler areas of KC.
Things in KC of to do, depending on age and interests - Country Club Plaza, Chiefs' Tailgates, Westport and Power and Light District (bars and clubs)...

Here's how the military works, when you are in line units you bust your arse 24 / 7 dedicate yourself to leading to the best of your ability and spend lots of time in the field and deployed without complaint.
Then when it comes time for mandatory schooling, you find a fun place to live, do what you have to do in class, and enjoy getting off at 5 every day and spending weekends and holidays with family and friends getting your drink on.
