So what's the deal with Entergy? They no longer allow net metering?

The UAW is the dominant force in Michigan politics. Tesla is a non-UAW shop.

You do the math.

I think by law they have to, but entergy only gives you 25kw, and you ha e to pay for the meter to be installed and even if you return energy to the grid, you still get charged a me that bill.

To Entergy...there is no difference.

You use solar, their profits shrink, they raise costs.

Dan Gilbert

quote:

Detroit billionaire Dan Gilbert today jabbed Gov. Rick Snyder for signing a bill that ensures Silicon Valley automaker Tesla Motors can't sell cars directly to consumers in Michigan.

Gilbert, who said he's a fan of Snyder, raised the issue while guest-hosting CNBC's "Squawk Box" and interviewing Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

He said Snyder's move "sends a bad message" about the influence of lobbyists in lawmaking.

"To me you have to have a philosophy and you have to stick to it and you can't let your personal circumstances compromise that," Gilbert said.

He also criticized the powerful auto dealer lobby for battling Tesla, which wants to sell cars through "stores" instead of franchises.

"Why don't you man up and compete like everybody else does?" Gilbert said.

Lulz that the biggest union-busting free market freddies, the Detroit Chamber of Commerce, support this:
quote:

The Chamber believes that the Detroit region, as the epicenter of the global automotive industry and the leader in next generation mobility, should have a business environment where all participants play by a common set of rules," Baruah said. "The Chamber supports the rationale Gov. Snyder utilized for signing this legislation and looks forward to the continued discussion the governor calls for."

Really???? Michigan has a Republican governor and Republicans control both the house and senate.

Oh, yes. This is clearly the doing of the evil Republicans. The Democrats and their unions have no pull in the state of Michigan.

Not sure if I understand your sarcasm. Are you going to ignore the fact that a Republican signed this into law and they control the state legislature? Also that Rick Perry signed the same thing into effect in Texas? And that Chris Christie did the same thing in New Jersey? And Jan Brewer in Arizona? And Bob McDonnell in Virginia? LINK.

In fact, Republicans control the state legislatures in Texas, Arizona, and Virginia. The only states where Tesla is banned with Democrat houses are Maryland and NJ. Citation.

Exactly Gary. We partisan fight just like they want us to, but to them their bipartisan priority list is:

1- money
2- their personal gain
3- electability
4- their political party
5- the people

Just wondering something. If you buy directly from the factory just where in the hell do you take your car for repairs and service? That right there would be the only reason I'm against direct sales.

Are you trolling? Tesla does the repairs at the store you bought your car from. They are not asking anyone to ship their cars to Fremont, California for repairs. Come on man...

Tesla has service centers in most states and mobile service techs. They are plannign a service center for New Orleans due to the growth of sales here.

Is it not?

Exactly. Where will Tesla owners get ripped off for a bunch of bullshite, unnecessary service if they don't have shady dealership service departments to go to?
