A mob in the Mexican tourist city of Taxco brutally beat a woman to death Thursday because she was suspected of kidnapping and killing a young girl, rampaging just hours before the city’s famous Holy Week procession.

The mob formed after an 8-year-old girl disappeared Wednesday. Her body was found on a road on the outskirts of the city early Thursday. Security camera video appeared to show a woman and a man loading a bundle, which may have been the girl's body, into a taxi.

The mob surrounded the woman's house Thursday, threatening to drag her out. Police took the woman into the bed of a police pickup truck, but then stood by — apparently intimidated by the crowd — as members of the mob dragged her out of the truck and down onto the street where they stomped, kicked and pummeled her until she lay, partly stripped and motionless.

I get that our system has its problems, but this seems awfully rushed. Like what if she didn't do it. There are pictures out there of the lady being beat while police watch.

I believe “awfully” is what you’re looking for here.

Yes. I should fix that.

Beating a woman to death right before your town's holy week parade seems odd.

Large metro areas could probably come out ahead with a public that responds to violent criminals with superior violence. Should be encouraging this behavior with our own lack of actual enforcement currently.

Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't. It won't change anything but the mob is sated. Once they get their blood up there is little stopping them.

And these people are coming en masse here, although some aren't much different than others within the walls.

Expect more

A trio of crucified criminals started the whole thing, so I'd say it's fitting.

Good. I hope the man also gets his soon. We need more of this type of justice in the world.

A famous serial killer Richard ramirez was beaten within an inch of his life by a mob of mostly Hispanic citizens in California. Intwpuld have been awesome if they had finished the job that day.

Yes it does in fact seem a little rushed and not quite in keeping with the tenants of a civilized society.

Yeah. The pictures were enough for me. I don't need to see any video.

Street justice is all well and good until you find out you got the wrong suspect

You do realize that Mexico is not part of the US, right?

I was attempting to make a comparison to what happens in the US currently with people doing whatever and not being held accountable. Like that there is somewhat of a happy medium between our state of affairs and this (or people in Singapore being executed for drugs).

Considering the open-door policy at the border:

Kind of a misguided assumption. When you bait tens of millions of animals into your country, what do you think will happen?
