Yeah, I'm cracking up at my desk. Not at the comments themselves. They have some pretty classless ones in there for sure. But watching the guys squirm is freaking hilarious.

Some of the comments were obviously deplorable, but damn as a female sportswriter, you would think they would have developed a thicker skin, instead of reading mean internet comments about themselves. The whole thing felt like a movie with the way the emotion was hammed up.

The internet is the internet, and you have to realize people don't really mean a lot of the shite they say. They would never say it in real life or actually even mean it. It's just the level you have to go to for shock value with online anonymity. But, telling someone who has apparently been raped that they should get raped again probably isn't going to be the easiest thing for a woman to hear.

Yeah, they can ignore the comments and try their best to not let it get to them but why are we ok with people saying these awful things in the first place? It's still not exactly "right" but people saying means things to an anonymous screenname on a message board is different than saying it to a person's identifiable Twitter handle, even if they are both online. They are using it for their job. Not goofing off on a message board.
I know this conversation will probably go nowhere on here. There will be more women hate spewed but whatever, I've said some of my part in the matter.
