That said, I don't see SB63 getting to JBE's desk for a signature.

I agree, Ted James tried this exact same thing 4 years ago and it made it to the floor, but after Dan Claitor embarrassed him in debate, he tabled it.

I have heard that the city parish is preparing to file a lawsuit to postpone the St. George election. They will argue that according to the plan of government no more municipalities are allowed to be formed in East Baton Rouge Parish.

They can argue all they want. The State Constitution of 1974 overrides the more recent EBR Plan of Government

When I imagine all city departments doing 20% less,

Well I can’t imagine that. Wouldn’t notice a difference.

With it looking like this will happen and the "devastating" effect it will have on the CITY of Baton Rouge, not parish, then, what are the chances of the city of BR admitting defeat and asking St George to stay, yet being allowed to start their own school district, which is all they wanted in the beginning?

Zero.

The narrative from their perspective isn’t a bunch of parents trying to get better schools for their kids.

It’s a bunch a racists trying to draw a line in the sand apart of NBR.

As if they really care about NBR.....but if you hear Boome and supporters speak it’s the heart of Baton Rouge and the spark where economic development will start.
