Those guys have a meaningless existence 9 out of 10 times AND they get drug down into the MC bullshite.
I've seen some great ones though... It's an interesting skill set to watch work correctly.

My first deployment was in support of an infantry company. Their 0231 spent as much time as possible in our compound. Dude hated life.
They didn't really know how to use him, or us really. That's why I'm glad I went the Recon route. Rarely had that problem.

His leadership just had the perception that he had little to offer them, and they treated him like it. Plus, like every Intel guy supporting combat ops, he got the worst of both worlds. He had his dudes back at AQ shitting on him, and the infantry dudes he was with shitting on him.
