Ever wonder why the previous Sheriff just up and retired? That opened the door for the St Tammany Machine to groom BooBoo for that job.
But Strain barely won the general election (by 989 votes) and the runoff (by 300 votes).
Doesn’t seem like much of a big machine play.

The podcast is very interesting. Looks like Currie is the killer but nothing will happen without a confession. That lady is a fricking loon.
Would be interesting to see if there were any links between Currie and a St Tammany businessman murdered in New Orleans East...

WHat business man? Who?

I assume this one….
cold-case-who-killed-bruce-cucchiara
I think there is a pretty solid theory about what happened to Bruce. It involves his well-connected business partner. There’s an online interview with Bruce’s two kids that explains some of it.

That article said they needed to find and speak to Glen Angus. He is on Facebook and LinkedIn after my 45 seconds of detective work. So I’m assuming he is shady and they just were calling him out????

Bumping this thread....
For those that listened, Currie's daughter stated that her mom told her she was going to kill two more people (attorneys).
Attorney #1:
"Jesse Wimberly, IV, also testified at the sentencing hearing. He had represented the homeowner's association in legal matters to recover homeowner's dues from the defendant. During that representation, the defendant's daughter telephoned Mr. Wimberly to warn him that the defendant had threatened to kill him. The defendant's daughter warned Mr. Wimberly because she thought "[the defendant] could do it and would do it."
Wimberly's house mysteriously caught on fire in the middle of the night around this time, while he was inside.
Attorney #2:
"Trey Lape also testified at the sentencing hearing. In 2012, Mr. Lape obtained a judgment for the homeowner's association against the defendant and pursued legal process for the seizure and sale of the defendant's condominium. Thereafter, while he was working at his office, he heard what he believed to be a gunshot and saw a vehicle fitting the description of the defendant's vehicle outside."
Who was the President of the homeowner's board that hired the attorneys trying to evict her from her condo? Bruce Cucchiara.

I didn't know he lived there, I thought he lived in Covington. Interesting linkage.
I googled his name and Beau Chene and what popped up was the 2019 succession of his Beau Chene condo to his business partner. I still think that has more to do with his death than Patricia Currie.

Worth a bump. New podcast about this case...
Gone South - Podcast
Listened to this podcast, came to the OT (as usual) for trusted information, and stumbled onto this thread.
For anyone just seeing this bump, it's worth a look-back through the five years of posts here to spot such oddities as:
• This comment, from an account that never posted again;
quote:
I know a great deal about what happened to Mrs. Coon,
please contact me at--- Addams1wednesday@gmail.com
• And the beginning of these comments, from someone claiming to be the first cousin of the victim.
quote:
FAMILY would love to know what & who you KNOW! So many comment. But a woman was murdered. Our family member. This is 30 and half yrs old. STILL KNOW NOTHING. ANYONE woth info needs to tell ehat they know. OUR FAMILY DESERVES ANSWERS. AND MARGARET & LYNN NUNEZ NEEDS JUSTICE. Stop hiding behind a screen or a badge. Or a bench. CORRUPTION MUCH. AND WE ARE COMING AFTER YOU. So get ready. We are pissed. She was loved. And needs justice.

Some strange comments made by that "cousin" though. Said she never went by Margaret Penny but she actually did when she was in Law School bc she was married to her high school sweetheart who was a Penny. Also said she wasnt a lesbian although its pretty well established by numerous sources that she was bi.

St. Tammany has not changed...although Montgomery is an improvement over Reed. Canulette unfortunately is an improvement over Randy Smith

From a public safety standpoint, not a chance.

Reed's office towards the end had become so corrupt there is no telling how dangerous it became. I don't care for either and I've known Reed for 25 years ( and like him personally ) But The things he did in office and some of the strong arm tactics he used would make you wonder how safe you were. I don't have nearly the problems with Montgomery and his running of the office.
I do however have major problems with Randy Smith....he is a dangerous boob with a badge

i figured that out pretty quickly. a judge required us to have a hearing in chambers when one of the issues was the other lawyer(local guy) committing ethical violations (for which the attorney was disciplined by the bar). When i raised the issue, the judge told me to shut up and sit down.
i sent my client to another local attorney who went to church with the judge, and low and behold, the case turned around instantly.
i will never go back there

This podcast host is good. She doesn’t let up. I hope this helps finally solve this case.
