This right here blows my mind… with all due respect, this is why stories get twisted around and then people claim ‘nobody knows the truth’
First you said, because you were CERTAIN
Then you say, after reading the coroner’s report and finding out you were wrong the whole time:
No…. YOU just got the wrong information and ran with it, thinking you were right after all these years, then had the audacity to blame someone else
This is just a lesson, if you aren’t sure about what happened during a certain situation, just keep your mouth shut

Like I said, they weren't Sherlock Holmes.

You guys ever heard of Woody Overton ? He's got a True Crime Podcast called Real Life, Real Crime. He was formerly a LSP Homicide Det. and he has shined a light on a couple of murders here in Louisiana, that had been previously covered up by corrupt Law Enforcement agencies in Rapides Parish and West Baton Rouge.
Your family should contact him. He Got Kelly Coco's (sp*) family, in Justice for Mary, the West Baton Rouge sheriff's office covered up the murder of Mary by Peanut (his real name escapes me, but he's well-known in WBR) who worked at the WBR Parish Prison for decades.
If you want someone to shine a light on your family member's murder, Woody is just the person who can get you answers. Your case is just the type of thing he loves to focus his efforts on.

The Northshore had/has a lot more corruption than most realize or admit. Several people were made multi milti millionaires off of construction rackets alone.
The current washington parish sheriff has two very well off brother in laws that seem to end up getting their various rental buildings leased out to every new business that comes to Bogalusa. And the sheriff sale is one of the very few that can't be bid on online. It must be in person.

You have to get too close though. When that happens DNA spreads. No professional would do that. Easier for the victim to possibly fight you off and scream and that takes more time. Def was someone who knew her

I don't know much about his business dealings but Bruce Cucchiara was an extremely nice guy, a dedicated & loving father, and an outstanding youth sports coach for tons of kids in Covington like myself.

The incredible original True Detective show wasn’t total fiction and based on some real stories and situations in Louisiana all spun together in one incredible series. The underlying premise that underground networks of evil people run things like sex and drug rings in Louisiana is and old one and an accurate one

Can you tell us the cases it was based off of? I'm interested.

Concerned Citizens of St Tammany added 3 new photos. August 7 at 4:13pm · What the Parish doesn’t want you to know! Back in 2008/9 St. Tammany agreed to buy a large water and wastewater system owned by a private owner H20 (SELA) Systems, the main reason for this was that the feds busted them for MAJOR wastewater violations of the Clean Water Act as well as violations of LA DHH and LA DEQ statues, to the tune of $30 plus million in fines and penalties. Basically, they put systems in and failed to maintain them or operate them correctly, let alone failing to notify the state when they were bypassing raw untreated sewerage into the many ditches, canals and lake. The company was facing total bankruptcy and needed a Government Bailout. The company the Parish bailed out was SELA, owned by Jared Reicke, friend of Kevin Davis. If you review the court case the pollution will shock you! Side note of interest: Bruce Cucchiara worked for the Riecke family in Covington, which has numerous business interests. Cucchiara was the first president and CEO of Resource Bank, when it opened in Mandeville in 1998.He also worked at the American Bank then ran SELA, before it was bought out by St. Tammany Parish Government. On April 24th, 2012 the Covington businessman was shot and killed in eastern New Orleans.

I lived in Covington Country Club at the time( which was the next subdivision over ). My parents used to walk in the evenings and I remember them talking about it.
That was around the time my Gparents lived there, then they built out in north Covington where there was absolutely no one.
Lot diff today.

The defendant had plastic bags on her hands and feet. Mr. Couture asked, "[w]hat are you doing here, Ms. Currie?" The defendant began to lift a .410 bore shotgun from under the towel and stated, "I'm here to kill you." The defendant pointed the weapon at Mr. Couture's chest; he grabbed the weapon by the barrel to push it away.
Umm, guilty as frick.

Thats just Louisiana in general. And most of those people came from Nola, so it makes a lot of sense. We have some nice people, but we also have some of the most corrupt people and just unhinged murderers as anywhere else.

Would be a lot harder to get away with today with the surveillance state we live in. Everybody has cameras on their houses.

I thought it was partially based on the Jeff Davis 6 or 8 or whatever it was called

So they haven't signed a new lease since Carter was in office?
