It seems to me this crazy shite didn't start until week or so after quarantine.

Maybe ppl who were asymptomatic carriers are more active and home less.
You lock them up with old frail family members who rarely leave home anyway. It's a recipe for disaster.

All speculation until we get random testing program and antibody testing established.

Talking to a few people some similar cases seemed to be happening in mid-late February in the metro are. Impossible now to know if they were covid at that point or not.

I know half a dozen people including myself that tested negative for flu and felt bad enough to go to the doctor to get checked/help.

None of this changes the players in the NFL per capita that LA has

Unmatched

Obese black people are a bigger demographic in New Orleans?

Mardi Gras brings people from all over the world?

Color me shocked that NO is a CV hot spot

N0, it is not because that is not how they are determining the death rate.

New York has 2373 deaths & 92,472 infections. 2.5
Louisiana has 310 deaths and 9150 infections. 3.2
Explain Italy and Spain at close to 10% for me.

That is case fatality rate.

They are discussing deaths per capita in the article.

That requires only two points of data.

1. Deaths by C19

2. Population

Mardi Gras and the faux St Pattys day parades. Thats what separates NO from the rest of the state. NO treated this like a Hurricane and it's not that kinda party.

I walk around Walmart amongst the general population and wonder how some of our citizens are not dropping dead of heart attacks. I love the south and all the great food but dang a little exercise would not hurt.

I tried and couldn’t get tested. Wasn’t old enough to worry bout

When was this? Last few days or longer ago? In California, we had to limit testing initially because of a physical lack of tests, but now we are testing broadly. If Louisiana is still limiting tests and the infection rate is already so high, in actuality, it's much higher. Which is a bad sort of impressive

There was no thought to this escalating to this level during Mardi Gras.

The people who went to Tracey’s for st Patrick’s day are in hindsight morons.
