Maybe ppl who were asymptomatic carriers are more active and home less.
You lock them up with old frail family members who rarely leave home anyway. It's a recipe for disaster.
Most people over 70 don’t come into contact with nearly as many people as those that are younger. Many of the early cases caught it on trips abroad. It’s not like only old people travel. Tons of people go to events like Mardi Gras that otherwise don’t do a dang thing. It’s not like everyone in the hospital now were the first and only people that got it, the amount of cases just increased slowly to this point.
It wouldnt surprise me if somewhere between 10-20% had it before March, 20-40% had it during March/ April, and we only have 40-60% of people left that have not had it.

You’re overstating it. They said those specific risk factors “may” be part of the reason.
More than likely, people in N.O. are
continuing to socialize. The numbers show that infections exploded with Mardi Gras. No
big surprise

Louisiana isn’t testing anyone unless they are seriously ill.
this doesn't affect the death rate per capita

I tried and couldn’t get tested. Wasn’t old enough to worry bout
LA is 3rd in per capita testing
But testing doesn’t have anything to do with deaths

Sao used to be a good poster. He went off the rails awhile back and hasn't been the same since.
Much like legendary QBs when they get older, they hit a wall and should just hang it up. The future is now old man.

Mardi Gras and the faux St Pattys day parades. Thats what separates NO from the rest of the state. NO treated this like a Hurricane and it's not that kinda party.
There was no thought to this escalating to this level during Mardi Gras.
The people who went to Tracey’s for st Patrick’s day are in hindsight morons.

Sao likes to try and baffle people with bullshite. He can make utter nonsense sound plausible for some reason

This thread makes my head hurt.

That’s because louisiana is fat. There are higher death rates with obese people.

SARS-CoV-2 testing by state (sortable)
Not sure where you live, but Louisiana as a whole has one of the highest testing rates in this country, behind only NY in tests per million people, and ninth most using the raw number. Testing supplies are relatively scarce, but more coming online. Not enough testing availability to the point where asymptomatic testing is advisable.

Just give it time New York. Yours will look like ours soon. New Orleans will peak weeks before New York will.
Took 4 days. Talk about not aging well, their death rate is now higher than ours.

So Mardi Gras was a big deal then?
