Live by yourself.

Best decision I made was choosing to find my own place for a while.

Roommates will eat all of your food and make your life hell. Get your own place if you can afford it.

if the dollars are the same, live alone and it is not even close. once you are past about 20 years old, living with a roommate has a pretty good likelihood of turning into a damn nightmare.

if you are in a big city, you can find lots to do to provide social life...no point in having to fight over whose turn it is to buy toilet paper and such shite as that.

once you live alone, you will never want another roommate...

had a cpl room mates

I rarely cooked so had to renegotiate the washing dishes crap, everybody washes their own.

if food is in the fridge, no rules will stop someone from eating what you put in there.

do your own laundry

make sure the roommate isn't a rock n roller who plays clubs, comes home at 4am and turns the stereo up

Would a saving of 1k a month make it worth having a roommate in the OTs opinion?
I live alone and of course love it, but that is my potential savings

I've done a random roommate situation 4 times and it worked out good 3 times. Actually became friends with the roommates.

I'm in a random situation now.. I pay 550/month for a furnished room in a big house. It would cost $1000 for a one bedroom apartment where I live and it wouldn't be nearly as nice

If you can afford to live by yourself, this is almost always the better option.

'm worried about being lonely in the studio vs worried about being stuck with roommates that could suck.
On a daily basis, being lonely beats the shite out of being annoyed. You can cure lonely.

I agree. Living alone is the way too go. Walk around naked. Have women over anytime. My list could go longer here.
