That is the question I have.

Try to find an apartment with roommates who you don't know and hope they're normal or go with a studio. The places I'm looking at are across the street.

The studio I'm looking at is in a basement. It's literally a large square room with a bathroom connected to it. No down payment, just a small move in fee. Near the top of my budget. Chick friend says she thinks it has "potential to be cozy." Probably only 70 in utilities. Has security.

Situation with random roommates is at the top of my budget. Still have to get furniture. Smaller living space. And a weighty security deposit. And 100 in utilities. Security is a joke.

P.S. I know no one in the city so roommates might give me a broader base to meet people.

Sounds like you already know. Take the studio if the cost is near the same. The privacy is worth it.

Any amenities you're not mentioning?

If I were single, I'd suck dick on the side if it meant I could afford to live alone.

What's your salary like? Entry level? Middle? Baller status?

No need for roommates unless it saves you money.

And it should. Why do both places have to be at the top of your budget?

Sounds like you're just starting out I hope. If that's the case, suck it up with roommates for at least a year and put away some extra money.

That should never be an option.

Both have rooftop decks. The roommates building has a pool and a shitty gym. The studio is very close to the building laundry. The studio only has one garden level window.

I'm worried about being lonely in the studio vs worried about being stuck with roommates that could suck.

The only way you should even consider the roommate option is if it will save you a LOT of money.

Live alone of course. That's an easy decision.

Did just move to huge city. Starting a new career.

I want to live at least somewhat near my work. I'd like to occasionally be able to walk to work (30 minute walk) instead of public transportation.

There are several places further out that are "trendy" and cheaper and younger but I just haven't liked what I've seen from that area. It's hideous.

And in still looking at other places but those have been the best options and time is running out on those

You'll be lonely in the studio or lonely when you're shunned by your roommates. Either way enjoy the solitude. You'll miss the silence when you have kids.

If there's not much cost difference, live alone. Especially if you're talking about having to find some randoms to live with.

The freedom of walking around naked and jerking off to stave off your "loneliness" is well worth not having roommates.

I haven't liked living with roommates since I was around 25 and stopped partying so much. Didn't have a roommate for 6 years, and then my baw needed a place to stay. We've been knowing each other for 15+ years, have worked together, and have lived together before, so no surprises. If I lived with anyone, he's at the top of the list. That being said, I still rather live on my own.

There is no way in hell I'd live with random people.
