Get the estimates and file the claim. You want it to be handled a mature fashion, handle YOUR end that way. See what happens. Don't think it is usually an option to let someone work on your car....But I forget a lot of stuff.

He does not get to choose if he tries to repair it or you take it to the most expensive place in town.

Bet that kid regrets "doing the right thing" by posting his info.

I love the pictures of the people who write shite like "sorry I hit your car, but I'm just writing this so people around think I left a note"

can somebody add a kid on a bike to the pic that was posted.... I need to see it like i was there. What kind of bike was it, diamondback? Did it have the pegs on it like back in the day?

I would drag the parents into it if for nothing else than to show what an a-hole they raised. May not bother them but it just might shame or embarrass them into paying. A fricking light assembly will run about $500 easy for that car. Why should he not try? Just because he's a dumbass doesn't mean he shouldn't be held responsible for his actions.
You mean his parent's should be held responsible for their adult son's actions.

Cause the story is probably bullshite

Small claims court fricking sucks. It'll drive you nuts. Do not go through your insurance company and let him pay the deductible. He should pay the entire amount, and threaten to sue him and call his parents if not

maybe the wife was caught with said guy "riding his bike" and he kicked out the tail light and she wrote the note.....

What you got on this? You thinking his male friend was punishing him from behind for buying his beard a new car and maybe a belt buckle caused the scratches? Maybe a mistimed thrust broke the taillight?
You know something..spill it.

File it through your insurance get it fixed provide them a copy of the note let them get reimbursed from his insurance company you pay them every month put them to work.
Posted on 2/11/15 at 6:16 pm to parrotdr
File the claim with the Insurance Co. Pay the deductible and have it fixed right. Turn the information over to the insurance company. They will collect all the damages from him and return to you the deductible from the first collections.
He should have paid the deductible and laid low.

Contact his parents and ask them would they like to pay out of pocket for the damages or would they rather you file a claim against their homeowner's insurance liability coverage (specifically the physical damage to property of others coverage). If the 18 year old still lives at home or is a student dependent he is an insured under the homeowner's policy.
Assuming his parents own their home in one of the swankiest towns in the U.S.

If he is 18 years old, I am not sure what his parents have to do with the matter at all. I would personally tell him to fix the light and see how he handles himself. I doubt that you are going to get anything beyond that and ther is no point in getting upset over it unless he gets defiant.

It's been on his website for years. He hasn't been on - I requested a fark yesterday to post this:
Damn - I thought for sure he'd be in this thread.
At least arse had the decency to let me drop this one.
