I remember in the early 80's we shot fireworks here in SW LA Christmas Eve night and it was 8 degrees. We were walking through ice in the woods for over a week.

Ponds froze in our neighborhood. Friend of mine tried to walk on the ice and fell through

Remember driving over lake pontchartrain and there was ice covering the water out past the I-10 bridges.

1982, we had a week of rediculous winter weather. On a monday it was 3 degrees.

I was 11 then and I'll never forget how cold I was as I helped my dad dig up and fix all the different spots our waterline coming in from the well broke.

'96 was cold but it didn't last. I never see icicles hanging from the edges of roofs and from trees like it did when I was a kid.

I LOVE when people claim unusual and bizarre weather as proof that climate change "global warming" doesn't exist. Where were you morons this summer? The term global warming was changed about 10 years ago. But yea... 'merica!!! :)

I think that's when it stayed below 32 degrees for over 36 hours. I was gone hunting for a few days, and when I got home, one of my toilets had ice.

Seems like 1983 was when the Red River froze over in S'port. High temps during the day were in the teens for days.

1983 and 1989 there was a shite load of ice coming down the Mississippi River.

We walked across our pond in La. Not something you hear every day.

lol...

And I love when people use one season's worth of data from where they live in an attempt to support this cause. I mean, really, ONE season?

S'port was below freezing for roughly 140 straight hours in '83. Second coldest snap on the books there.
