Long live the boombox with portable cassette player...

also, hated when the bus would go over a series of bumps that would outlast my Sony Discman anti-skip technology.

I do sometimes marvel at my phone today. It not only can access the entire word's collected knowledge via the internet, but hold a vast array of movies and photos AND my entire music collection that I struggled to have even a tiny bit of with me when I as a kid

if someone had told my 12 yr old self that this would happen i would have laughed. Its pretty remarkable when you think about it

That is where the term "mix tape" orginated from. The ability to put whatever songs you wanted on a cassette tape. I had 2 tape boxes filled with tapes. Those were the days....

I used to convert my CD's to cassettes so I could mow the grass without having to mess with all the skipping on my discman.

I think the new fad of talking about how time has made the world different is lame as frick.

Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. Your cavalier attitude runs the risk of forcing us back to the Walkman.

Songs recorded off the radio with the dumbass DJ talking into the first few seconds.

The struggle was real.

yup, imagine, sitting there spinning that rotary dial and someone says.. one day you will be able to carry a phone the size of an index card in your pocket and call people from anywhere... and that phone would be able to send pictures and typed messages to people all over the world.

That phone is like every handheld and wireless technology in one phone...in 15 years.

phone, pager, answering machine, PDA, GPS, music player, speaker, recorder, gameboy, battery op game, pedometer, compass, other random gizmos
