I got mine in late 2012(13 model) and have had no issues yet. Outside of this kamikaze bird that wrapped its neck around my sunroof wind bar, that is

Yes, this picture happened while driving down a highway.
And yes, those legs were flailing left and right violently, threatening to fall into the car(and ultimately, my lap).

SEL. I wanted the TDI engine, but SEL package. Ended up going with the SEL. Sport mode is fun, but I do miss my manual while using it.

Nice. I'm considering getting the SE, TDI & SEL are a bit out of my budget ($24K).

:lmao:

That's awesome.

Out of all the stuff I drove the Jetta felt much nicer than everything else in the 20k and down range.

As a bonus, it hauls arse

We got the jetta tdi mid level trim for 24k out the door. Great fuel mileage and only a few minor things we've had to bring it in for. It's 100% not a luxury vehicle or anything, but a great value. 2+ years and only complaints are bluetooth sound quality and inevitable rattles present in all lower end plastic filled cars.

I just bought a 2014 Ford Fusion and have absolutely no regrets. Just like Kia, Ford has stepped it's game up in recent years.

My decision basically came down to the Optima or Fusion and I like the Fsuion's ride & space(especially the trunk and back seat) much better. Plus the new grill is IMHO.

I really liked the Accord but it was a bit out of my price range. I got my fusion used for 19K. So for the price and value I think the Fusion is one of the best on the market. Plus all the sites like KBB, etc. have given it exceptional ratings.

Keep in mind this was YEARS AGO, but a friend of mine had a Jetta and it literally fell apart. The door panels, the radio, everything was falling apart. The engine needed constant maintenance.

Ya I bought one for a GF like 10 years ago and had the same experience. I ended up selling it to the poster Napoleon for $500!

Don't know anything about the VW, but KIA makes a nice car. A buddy of mine has just gotten his 2nd Optima. Loves it. I've ridden in it, and it's very nice. Comfortable, great ride.

We just bought a Sorento, and it's the quietest SUV I've driven in quite some time. V6 has pretty good power, and the transmission is very smooth.

I'd say go test drive one, but then you'd get hounded by every car salesman within 150 miles.

Jetta is safer.

We have the 2013 TDI w/premium. Got it last Sept. Going in for the 30k oil change in the morning. Rides great and the 55+mpg highway doesn't hurt.

Do the math. Not worth it. The gas mileage isn't worth the extra $$$ and you're not going to keep it long enough to get that famed diesel engine mileage out of it.

Why is the maintenance so bad with that car?

Because they have to follow the EPA regs. We're getting well over that on the highway.

OK so you're like 1% of commuters? Also not sure how you managed to get one that goes 55mpg when they're advertised for mid to low 40s. For the average person the cost of the TDI is not worth it.

Tank is 13 gallons and it's filled up at the end of each week. Pretty easy to do the math.

Pretty easy to figure out the average commuter isn't putting on the miles that you are and is battling stop/go traffic. It's not worth it VW fanboy.
