1. Are you working out?
Everyday.
Yes. 5-6 days.
I eat about 1800 kcals a day.
Just a basic calculator. The reddit/keto has a good one. And set your activity level to sedentary.

Honestly, many folks would do fine on a Daily Plate log, some other log in their phone, or even better - and actual, physical log in a small notebook.
The principle is: You can eat whatever you want, as long as you are meticulous about writing down what it is and the amount.
The psychology of that food log building during the day allows your mind to click: "Okay. I've had enough food to eat today."
exactly. people way over complicate the weight loss thing. it just sucks, its not complicated.

Because the ludicrous notion that there is any place in the United States - where people live - that has a lack of availability of food. The exact opposite is true. We're drowning in food sources and it is literally killing us.
But food deserts DO exist. I'll take you to the Mississippi Delta and show you.
The economy is so bad here major supermarkets leave the area because the expenses outweigh the revenues. There are people in desolate areas that are 50+ miles away from a grocer. This problem is even more devastating for the elderly who are dependent on transportation to get things like food and medicine.
Not advocating a "liberal talking point". It's just the reality of the situation.

He's an ultimate example. You can't eat chicken wings all week, then drink beer all weekend. He has no commitment.

Sure you can if you're working out and at a deficit overall.
I substitute the beer for whiskey.

No doubt man. I am not rich but not poor. I can eat a "good diet" thanks to farmer's markets, Wal-Mart/Sams, and the occasional protein treat from Calandro's.
The uneducated don't know how to shop. They are pushed towards dinner helper boxes and some add on protein. Fresh vegetables? Yeah right. That is a luxury of the educated.

So, you're saying a small grocery store or large convenience store cannot serve a sparse, rural neighborhood?
It's class warfare and not so subtle suggestion of racism, as most "food deserts" in the U.S. are majority black areas. But, this is probably better for the poliboard than the OT.

Well then your comment doesn't make sense given his post

I have absolutely no problems with keto and have used it before, but you would have seen great results with any high protein diet.
I dropped 25 lbs doing IF, taking in high protein, and eating whatever I really want on the weekends.
I prefer keto when I'm trying to drop the last 2% of bf, but I find the social restraints annoying for long term use

I would never do keto, it's completely unsustainable IMO, and I'd imagine a large % of ppl blow back up as soon as they get off this, just like any other diet.
Just eat reasonably, get your protein, lift hard (compound and olympic lifts), and do some HIIT and the rest takes care of itself.
People make this shite way more complicated than it needs to be.

His results indicate that he is not. Right?
Yes, I can eat keto and gain weight. Especially if I add in booze. Lazy keto is not a way to lose weight. You have to track. Outside of some water weight, Hulk hasn't lost a thing in three years?

I'm saying that the cost of doing business can be drastic.
You're right that food deserts are in mostly black areas, and it is a class issue. I'm not advocating for a particular policy, but the problem is there.

What's your take on PSMF?
btw, I hope I'm not on the list of people who suck at doing keto.
I have no idea who all sucks I just notice many on here are always asking about this diet or that diet instead of just learning and understanding principals. Its like a football coach asking about certain plays and implementing them without a real understanding of what the play is trying to achieve. It might work a few times but without an understanding of the principles and how to make adjustments, you are fricked after a while.
as far as psmf goes, its the type of keto diet I recommend if somebody is ready to do it and understands how to workout on it and has the commitment for it. I like Lyle McDonald's(he is the ultimate douchebag) Rapid Fatloss Handbook version of PSMF for quick body recomp but realize its just a tool, without the understanding of the basics its useless.
used right RFL can be the ultimate tool for body recomp. but you can't over do it on length and you have to log/measure everything. You also can not over do it on the working out. For the best results it should be cycled and you should understand how to use really long depletion workouts to get your blood glucose levels down quickly.

I disagree, but that's the great thing. I don't have to eat simple carbs and you don't have to eat a bunch of fat.

Just eat reasonably
Which does not require eating simple carbohydrates.

And tacos
And tacos

So if I was eating 3000 kcals but high protein I would have seen the same results? Go back. The reason keto is working for me is because it helps me keep my kcals at a reasonable level without wanting to kill someone.

I don't self tan, shave my chest, or wear a thong on stage. I could not give a shite about 2% of body fat.
