By the way, I feel for your frustration, it sucks. But, the answer starts with becoming more civilized, and give up the hate of what people did in the past, IMO.

Blacks are a victim of racism because of the relics of old agrd white supremacy in this country, and it's starts foremost there. That's where it started. And where we are today is can be traced to those premises.

Are you saying we are at fault for our treatment? That statement excludes the pretense of what has lead to our current treatment. Respectability never worked because out treatment is still worse that others.

I believe apart of assimilating for other minorities includes distancing themselves for blaxks and following the American way of looking down on them. It's one way of buying gathering acceptance from the majority.

It's like the roles have reversed. I travel a lot and I find blacks are super pissed off in the south, still. Not so much elsewhere. Gotta move on and prove yourself. I hope to see this one day in the future and see my black fellow Americans in a proud way. I'd love to see that, but it's not a present reality. Sucks and fricks our nation as a whole.

Get that sh*t out of here. They are still alive not because they're white but because they didn't assault the cops. It's people like you is why there is racial divide, only seeing skin color.

The behavior of many blacks is a big part of it. Go observe the behavior of the people in any predominately black neighborhood. Yet black people will not call out the negative behavior in their community. It is glorified.

I hope it ends soon. I gave myself my middle name after my best friend's name in kindergarten, he is black. I am white, obviously.

Ditch the UNCF and start a united negro family fund, to teach values.

I agree with you SS. A double standard does exist.

It exist in the real world, it exist in the media, and it exist on this board.

To be fair, I think it goes both ways.

Any fair and rational person will acknowledge. Some others will not. There is nothing to really be done about it. I would suggest letting it roll off you back and chuckle about it like I do.

Part of being respected is earning that respect. Do you really think the rest of America should respect the ghetto or thug culture?

You continue to make excuses but are unwilling to accept that a change in behavior would go a long way towards acceptance and respectability.

I hope you realize this is a really stupid statement.

quote:

The behavior of many blacks is a big part of it.

The minority does not represent the majority. Except of course, when it is convenient for an argument.

quote:

Go observe the behavior of the people in any predominately black neighborhood.

Like middle class neighborhoods? If you are talking about low social economic neighborhoods then I would agree with you, the behavior is probably bad. However, couldn't we say the same thing to our white counterparts?

quote:

Yet black people will not call out the negative behavior in their community.

Not true, not true at all. Once again people only latch on to what serves their purpose. This is both true of the media and the ordinary man.

quote:

It is glorified.

I promise you it is not.

Oh, there is absolutely something that can be done about it. They just decide to keep on thinking its the white man's fault. Choose your destiny in the greatest country in the world. It's there for the taking. Being angry and bitter isn't the answer. Actions.

Not one thug piece of shite?

The OTs implicit racial bias rears its ugly head again

people are making fun of their "crime spree", so i don't know if they get a tPOS label

white people are called tPOS early and often when it involves violent crime or if childhood victims are involved

No decent person should respect ignorant culture.

A change in behavior on who's part. Once again, the blacks who act this way are in the vast minority. The problem is that people want to automatically associate "thug culture" with blacks (their are studies that back this up).

I can only control what I do, the same as you. So why then should I be held responsible for the poor actions of others while you are not?

You clearly decided who is worthy of racially-laced degratory statements and who isnt.

bro a few weeks ago there was a thread on here about a black woman trying to cash some insanely large fake check (like $250k) and not one legit tPOS was uttered there, either. it was the same sort of mockery of the crime as this thread

tPOS is almost always reserved for violent crime, theft (actual taking), or when child victims are involved

regardless of race

I don't see a lot of reprimanding in this thread.

because 2 kids wrote hot checks and stole some cars and they're in custody. the male will spend some time in jail (possibly in multiple states)

nobody is disputing what they did as trashy, and they're being mocked for being pieces of trash. they are caught and i don't know what else you want

quote:

We defend and deflect because there is a long history of black people and minorites not receiving equal treatment or ounishment under the law, and cases where we were falsely accused, and subsequently murdered or imprisoned over things they didn't do. We still have many men being exonerated to this day. We have every reason to "get defensive" and be weary of a system that for most of our history, never gave us the benefit of the doubt or a fair shake.

you're picking the wrong story to stand on this soapbox

What?

I was referring to the existence of double standards. You cannot control the thoughts of others and it is foolish to.

I'll give you an example from Tigerdroppings.

On the more sports board, when Adrian Foster offered money to a woman to have an abortion it was responded to in a negative manner.

When JJ Reddick succeed in paying a woman to have an abortion for him, he was called a pimp and smart.

This is a double standard. Would you disagree?

I think a lot of that is just playing up to TD mentality/joking, or at least I hope so.

define "vast minority"

something insane like 1 in 3 black males goes to prison (that means being committed of a serious crime or having a history)

70% of black children are born out of wedlock

i think 13% lack males can't vote due to felony convictions

LINK for 1 and 3

you can google the "70%" number but it's cited early and often (some say it's higher than that)

Maybe some but you know some of those posters were serious.

Of course this also exist in the real world.

The simple truth is, so people will look at me, see my skin color, and figure the know everything they need to know about me.

I cannot do a thing about this and I will not try.

I am not responsible for the actions of others who share my race, just like you are not.
