Not where I work. I don't take anything back unless their is a receipt.

You come in with no receipt or the merchandise doesn't match the receipt I check the video and look for you coming in empty handed.

I've been threatened before but that's when I keep them there ranting and raving while someone calls the cops. The look on their faces when an officer walks up behind them and they get arrested for threatening me and obscene behavior.

It comes down to would you rather let the trash linger in your store or refund them a few dollars and let them continue on with their miserable lives.

I don't buy produce that will stay "fresh" (GMOs) on my counter top for 2 weeks.

OT organic snob!

Who even thinks to try stuff like that? Similarly I've also heard looking for a refund on their food after they have eaten it all. Pretty ridiculous.

There's no way those were going back on the shelf. They were halfway to becoming homemade wine.

No, because you're stealing from my dads hardware store. My dad is Craig Menear, CEO of Home Depot. And it's because of pieces of shite like you that I had to settle for a 2014 Ferrari instead of the new model. I look like a goddamn fool. DIAF.

bullshite. It's not the managers, it's corporate. Once a customer calls in to complain that their return wasn't taken back, it's "game over" 90% of the time. It becomes a question of how much of your own time you want to waste in your defense for not returning the product. With the amount of stuff needed to get done in a normal day, it's actually more efficient to go ahead and take back the 24 bucks worth of old strawberries than to deal with a call to corporate. You have to explain why you wouldn't take the return and then ultimately have them tell you to take care of the customer anyways.

I guess I would be game over as a store manager. I would tell the guy I'm not refunding his strawberries and if he started acting up would call the police for causing a disturbance.

LINK

This woman is beyond nuts. She peels the bananas in the store before she buys them because she doesn't want to pay for the peels. She has ONE lightbulb that she carries from room to room. She saves the water she cooks pasta in and reuses it to save money on water. She scrapes food (like spaghetti sauce) off the plate and back into the jar to use it again. She makes her bf turn off the tv during commercials.

Eh...they can resell it so it's not like they are out. Though that doesn't make it any less shitty to do IMO.

Cmon stout. They are out the money. If dickface steals pvc from a construction site, gets a gift card from home depot, uses it, and then even if home depot sells the pvc they are out.

Probably Costco. They take anything back, literally.

when we go tent camping for NASCAR races we usually buy a big 14 man tent from Costco and the return it after we get back. We clean it out good though.

You know what's even worse?
That fricking trashy arse Walmart will demand a credit from the vendor. That pisses me off more than a piece of trash scamming the system. Walmart eventually puts their small vendors out of business. That my friend is a fact.

This guy in front of me brings back 4 cartons of strawberries, the cashier looks incredibly pissed and gives the guy a refund. I asked the cashier if people were allowed to bring back old produce and she said that the guy in front of me had purchased the strawberries 2 weeks ago, his reason for bringing them back was because "he didn't use them." She said that their managers make them take it back and that one guy actually brought the fat scraps of a steak back, asked for a refund because it was tough and their manager made them refund the guy.

Every system seems to have some sort of loophole. I need to become a lawyer.
