I don't get the math. 30k min in bonus, and 10k in extra salary. Were you making 20k base? If so I wouldn't move anywhere for a 30k base.

Also, I got about the same raise that you have on the table and it bumped me into the next tax bracket, so while I'm grossing 10k more a year I'm barely netting more money per paycheck. Keep that in mind.

that's not how it works, that is not how any of this works.

Is the company helping to pay for the move?

Currently making 35k before taxes (plus ~2k in annual bonus)

Offer is for 45k plus semi annual bonuses, the lowest yearly total I saw being 15k. So conservatively I think I would start off at 60k.

Up to $2k, yeah. I was planning on seeing friends along the way, so I'll save on hotels.

I read this and thought 30k a year in bonus.

45k in base makes it a little better, but you are young, you can live on nothing basically. I really enjoyed my couple trips to the NW. Seems like a cool arse place to live.

it's a pay raise and big bonus potential,

This may sound strange, but chasing the money isn't the best reason to move. And as others have said, don't count the bonus as part of your comp. The reality of it is a 10k raise with a 2k moving allowance, but that's less important than the career and personal growth opportunities.

Washington is sweet. Lots of beer.

And no fricking sun. Girls are less attractive. And you have Seahawk fans.

Just $2k for moving? We moved a campus director of student finance from WA to Jackson, MS and it ran us $14k. It was only he and his wife.

I'd stay put. You'll miss the sun, trust me. There should be plenty of opportunities and better deals if you're good at what you do.
