Which parish governs the culvert size?

None.

We take care of things on our own, it worked for 160 years.

Then they blocked my drainage.

I'll start allowing debris to accumulate a mile or so past them. The beavers will eventually do the rest.

People tend to acknowledge their mistakes when they start affecting them rather than their neighbors.

I saw the rest of your post. You want an idealistic regional flood plan

They can’t fix the interstate death trap you think you’re gonna get multiple parishes to invest in flood management?

Mitch is a baw who is gonna take care of him and his. Maybe the other parishes should expect the same of their leaders

I hope you are against all other infrastructure and development which inhibit the natural path of floodwaters.

So they dammed it up to protect their own and its affecting you now? They're doing what's best for them just like your boy Mitch. You can't be mad about that.

I get that. I don't want to argue about something I have little knowledge about...this is just what I gathered based on reading a poster on here several days ago. They seemed very knowledgeable.

I guess I'm saying that's a contributor to the problem. And that's why we are here talking about it today. We seem to be rolling the dice in the wrong direction more frequently for low probability events.

No.

They damned it up up so they could have pretty green grass instead of a ditch.

Much like how ascension has built a metric shite ton of homes in areas they shouldn't have with zero regard for their neighbors.

It wasn't about protection for them... It was about profit.

And hey... The neighbors will handle the water.

Well Iberville has decided they no longer want to handle unmitigated flow.

And a bunch of fake baws are up in arms.

yea i know, but the year storm topic was big in 2016 when the retards was all up in arms over the I12 barrier.

1. no one designs for a 1000yr storm so it is retarded to think 2016 was a normal event.

2. the i12 wall probably saves 1000s of 1000s of homes from flooding down stream. So what's better a couple 1000 houses getting 6-8 ft? or 10s of thousands getting 3'. If you have ever had your house flooded you know there isnt much difference between 3' and 6ft in your house....

I can't help it if you lack the understanding of being a responsible landowner.

Looking at the map.... what about proposing the region pay for a diversion pipeline or canal leading to the MS River? I would think Pumps should be adequate to keep levels reasonable enough. This isn't NOLA, we can handle pumps

you do know you are saying what someone did against you is bad yet Iberville doing the same thing is good right? I cant help you cant realize that. You need to take out what your neighbor has done to you and look at this from a clear perspective..... but it looks like you cant do that.

...you are so obtuse that you can't see that actions have consequences.

Ascension chose to ruin the natural drainage and spillways. Iberville has now chosen to not pick up their slack.

Ascension can fix their issues or enjoy being wet.

My neighbors can fix their issues, or they can enjoy being wet.

Louisiana has too many parishes. A bullshite boundary set 150 years ago shouldn't be the cause of such drama. If you live in South Louisiana, you live in wetlands. Call it Iberville, Ascension, Baton Rouge, or any it's low level flat lands where water needs to go somewhere.

Parishes need to be redrawn for economic and population centers. Larger parishes with more incorporated cities for local control. And end the fricking parish president bullshite like EBR.
