solid education

A good catholic education, maybe. But STA cant come close to the college courses that PHS offers. Great teachers aren't flocking to go there to get paid a little over half of what public school teachers make. You are terribly misinformed if you think your kid is getting a good education from STA.

And you are terribly misinformed if you think the academics at PHS currently come close to anything STA is offering. The only public schools in tangipahoa parish coming close to what STA offers currently is Hammond due to the magnet programs. PHS was once a great school, Pat Morris, Matk Kolwe, and Brett Duncan ruined that.

The top students at PHS and the top students at STA prolly know the same amount. Its the lower level kids that PHS has more of now that makes people say it isnt as good.

The technology, smaller class rooms, curriculum, amount of scholarships, highest sat and act scores in the parish, etc. that leads me to believe STA is putting out a much higher quality education. As I said, prior to Kolwe, Morris, and Duncan PHS had great schools hell I went there. Since the deseg plan came back up because of Kolwe and Morris, and Duncan's plan to bus the best kids out of each district to hammond from across the parish. That has crippled PHS academically.

Today's Yankees are much harder to tolerate but like the 1865 ones, they think if they come south to stay, we're ok with it.

We're not.

Congratulations, you completely missed the point.

That's funny. I grad in 02 from STA and had friends are both PHS and HHS... None of them came close to the things we were doing and they were the ones to tell me that. Not to mention my ACT score compared to them.

I have spent the last 9 years away from Louisiana and live around people all races...good people come in all colors just as the bad ones. Do i want to live in the ghetto? Of course not because i have choices. I see you are the same after all these years.

PHS from 2000-2003. Moved before my senior year.

It was alright then, but it's also the start of when the area started to blow up.

This may be in the works to get me the hell out of this awful state of Virginia. If I worked out of Ponchatoula, where would be the best area within 30-50 milesof it to raise two boys and what high school has the best athletics in that area?

Mandeville was voted #1 place to raise a family in Louisiana.
Madisonville pretty much an extension of Mandeville.
Mandeville high is like free private school..
