Fair enough - but I dont want to work with/for someone that gets in a twist over a goodlooking, groomed beard. They're likely miserable to work with if it made the difference between being hired or not.

Every male medical equipment rep. has a beard. No job is more appearance based. Their scrubs are starched. The women all have fake racks.

I work in that industry too, and some people have beards, but the ones I know that do went into that damn interview clean shaven. Having a beard unless you somehow look sharp as frick with one sends off the wrong message.

I'm assuming that means it didn't go well since you didn't get the job.

I always get the job. It was like all others but one. One ended in an argument. I knew I was not getting that one. I was clean shaven as hell then.

My point is, going into an interview with a beard says this.

Not if it's trimmed and neat.

Well, frick. I mean, what can't rub "some people the wrong way"? What if he wore brown shoes with a black suit? Wore more than two patterns? Etc.

shite always rubs people the wrong way, such is life...

Got a rack? If so and you aren't in sales or a drug rep or physician liaison, you are wasting your skill set.

I've been told I should be in sales because I'm a great negotiator

But I'd hate it if I had to do it

And I have great tits in the right bra

What percentage of the general population have beards? Is this statistic meaningful?

If you're 41 years old then it's highly unlikely that a beard is what matters. You should be a master of your field. If you are, you can be like ZZ Top. If you aren't, your beard is not the problem.

No offense, but you're way too bipolar to be in sales.

Last two guys I hired had beards, one senior level, one intermediate. Didn't even think about it until you brought it up.

NBD, but I'm not a frigid old biddy so IDK.
