On the governor’s desk are letters from legislators and a vocal church congregation. They all ask Jindal to stop the bill from becoming state law.

Senate Bill 654 would allow other commercial film theaters across the state to stock alcoholic beverages
Why isn't it "allowed" anyway? Is there some prohibition on them getting licenses?

I thought north Louisiana banned movies on Sundays. Now they want alcohol?

His reason is flat out crap. I don't care what your daddy said who made him a law maker?
And who the frick is he to try and preserve all movie theaters as alcohol-free venues for families. Let the private businesses decide if they want to serve alcohol.

Mini bottles are great.
Maybe make an exception. Sell it in R rates movies and in G rated movies but in between that no alcohol. A couple of beers would have helped me through Frozen.

I do not support alcohol sales in movie theaters. It is ridiculous.
Why is it? It's not like people are pounding shots while watching a movie getting trashed
Nothing wrong with enjoying a glass of wine with a movie IMO.
They have several theaters like this here. All nicer than usual theaters. Never have I seen movie patrons trashed during the movie.

Why? If I want to watch a beer in a movie and someone wants to sell me one, we should be able to.

What the frick does this mean? How do seemingly retarded people always end up appointed or elected to our state government?

Wouldn't know; they're ILLEGAL in Louisiana!

A member of my party including myself was escorted out of Wolf of Wall Street for taking ludes and pounding Kendall Jackson merlot at Canal Place.

Alamo Drafthouse is all over Austin and is the only theater I'll go to now. Ticket prices are the same as other theaters and they serve alcohol and food at your seats. Everyone here loves it, including families with children, churches, etc.
I assumed Louisiana was more lenient on alcohol laws. We still can't buy liquor on sundays and can't buy beer from a gas station after 12a.

I support alcohol at theaters. I already bring my flask in anyway

Troy is a huge bitch. He was a state rep for one of the shite holes surrounding Lafayette, picked a fight with a local DA's office, got embarrassed, and ended up running to BR with his tail tucked between his legs.

What the hell does quote" best place to hide in public is back of a picture show" have to with the alcohol issue? Seems like someone could still hide out?
This is one of the only issues in BR I actually care about. I will be severely disappointed if this bill is vetoed. Nola AMC has it right. SERVE THE DAMN BEER!
