Wow, even if you would double that, you still arent taking in enough calories. Whats the deal man?

not really. Im 31, male 5'6 145. here is my weekly eating
breakfast-coffee
lunch- one baked chicken thigh
snack- couple baby raw carrots, couple raw broccoli
dinner- either 2 baked chicken thighs and baked sweet tater or ground turkey in a bowl with lettuce, hot sauce, and saute bell peppers and onions.
i eat that mon-fri
on saturday and sundays i will eat a little more.
i also walk/jog 3 miles daily from 11:30-12:10 during my lunch break. And lift light weights every evening, nothing major.
We've talked on here a few times about fitness related topics. Im telling you, you arent taking in nearly enough calories man. Do you not feel bad throughout the day? If you are doing 40 mins cardio and lifting weights daily, you're burning approx 800 calories just due to exercise. That's everything youve consumed.

I feel good on the "diet".
Yeah, this sounds fine to me. I've gone through similar phases-- usually not more than a couple of months at a time in my case-- and I feel more consistently sharp and energetic when I do. When I go back to a more normal 2000 calorie or more diet, I end up feeling sluggish.
The most important thing is to listen to your body and if you know this is working for you, that's great that you can stick to it. Most people are just used to the cookie cutter dietary guidelines that are publicly promulgated, but these aren't necessarily what's best for any given individual.
I was reading some research by some prominent scientist a couple of years ago... his main work centered on how the mind works, etc... and he stated something to the effect that we can all get by on far fewer calories than we typically consume. I don't remember if he was recommending something in your range (800-1200 cal/day), but definitely cited approx that range as being very beneficial to the physical health of the brain. Not sure if the study in the link below is related, but it conservatively hints at similar findings:

I ingested 2 gallons of water and a cup of coffee already today.
Ate a cinnamon roll, a bag of peanuts, and some beef jerky. Almost all of my calories each day come from dinner.
Tonight I am going to eat two large catfish filets, most of a head of broccoli, and probably an entire box of shells and cheese. Top that off with around 1/4gal of whole milk and I'm full. I do eat desert a couple of hours later.
My dinner every night is basically like someone eating thanksgiving dinner. I am guessing it is over 1000 calories
Eta: Just looked it up, and that comes out to 2200 calories for dinner

I used to have this mentality... But today's technology makes it very very easy.
I know you're a big runner so you probably don't need as much body maintenance.
Conversely, I imagine there are many who would prefer to eat a bullet than a five mile run, that's no way to live life.

you're either 4'0 75 lbs, you're tracking your calories wrong, or you're an idiot.

IF and "eat multiple small meals a day" are both myths and have zero bearing on weight loss.
Calories in < Calories out will make you lose weight and it is as simple as that. Doesn't matter how you get your calories.

bc im trying to meet caloric and macro intake goals....just tell me what you are getting at here
Posted on 6/19/14 at 3:32 pm to Hugo Stiglitz
if it helps you live a healthier lifestyle, by all means, keep at it
just seems incredibly tedious for something that is not that hard
we all know what is healthy and what is bad for (or at least we should)
just keep the bad stuff in moderation and exercise

I do it every once in a while.
