He was a outlier, that is the way statistics work, unfortunately my family was not so luck, smoking killed both my parents and one grandparent. Looking at my family tree the chronic health problems experienced by the smokers compared to the non-smokers was stark. Do have a uncle still alive at 80, but I would not call his life living, drags around a oxygen tank, can't breath, cant sleep, countless hospital stays.

Just smokes around 7-10 a week - work stress outlet.
Never around other people.
Never ever inside.
Exercises regularly and eats well.

Look, I don't care for rap music, four wheelers, or Clemson fans. But they have a right to live too.
The clean air zealots aren't about banning smoking, they're about controlling people. Don't like smokers, don't go around them. I like smoke free places too, but you have to give the tobacco crowd some slack at some point.
