That's so fricking stupid. Smokers should avoid non-smokers, not the other way around, dumbass.

Agree.

Don't like smokers, don't go around them. I like smoke free places too, but you have to give the tobacco crowd some slack at some point

Oh for frick sake. Did anyone actually read the OP? I never said you shouldn't be allowed to smoke. I simply said that I can't believe people still continue to choose to smoke. Why is reading comprehension so hard

Good response that has nothing to what I said.

You were dogging people from the south earlier in this thread, no?

With the user name 'honky lips'?

Yea, you have no agenda

Good God you're a moron. "Honkey lips" is from national Lampoon's vacation. It's not a political statement. And I brought up chemo cause all you defenders of smokers keep using the "liberal pussy" defense because you have no real defense of smoking. But the "pussies" aren't purposely giving themselves fricking lung cancer.

I disagree. Smoking bans haven't been around that long, but most places have areas for smokers. You should avoid those areas.

Also avoid being next to any running car while your at it. You are breathing straight poison that will kill you more rapidly.

I don't know if it's been mentioned already, but smoking is on the decline, with only 15% of the American population still indulging in the nasty habit, a preponderance of them (sadly) being poors. Like the OP, I can't believe people defend their "rights" to the extent they do. With retarded addiction comes entitlement, I guess.

Smokers are the ones inconveniencing people. Why should non smokers have to make the effort to accommodate them?

I thought about this. With smoking bans in casinos, shouldn't they get more customers?

Honestly, I don't see cigarette smokers blowing smoke all over people anymore. Vape smokers is a totally different story though.

I quit smoking a couple of years ago. As easy as it would be to look down on people who still have the habit, I refuse to allow myself to do that. It is objectively really stupid, but it's also pretty enjoyable. I bet there are more than a couple of stupid things that you enjoy too.

I totally agree. I've never been a "smoker" (except maybe a few months early in college or a summer abroad), but if you took away the health issues the smell etc would not stop me from smoking socially.

Nothing like stepping outside on a chilly night with friends or random people for a smoke. Or while fishing. (Eta: I don't do either at all any more but hard to judge and easy to understand. Not so much with the regular smoking, esp people w kids/inside smoking.)

Sorry for your genetics, but dont use politics to blame me and curtail my liberty. None of us asked to be born, some are in lucky sperm club, others in lucky genetics club, others in both. Most however are in neither. Random sumbitches we all are, some just more random than others.

The dangers of secondhand smoke are overblown. The dangers lie mostly with trashy parents with kids who smoke all day in their houses and hotbox in their cars while toting little Johnny around with a half inch crack in one window. This was common in smokers 20-30 or more years ago. Not so much anymore. Of all the smokers I know, and there are quite a few, only two smoke in their house with kids and only one in their car with kids. And trashy. 25 years ago most of my parents' friends smoked in their houses and cars with their kids there.
