My problem is every single proposed "solution" to "tackle climate change" involves less liberty, less freedom, more taxes and more government.

The same solutions progressives have for gun violence and CV19.

They just want to control the population

Wasn’t ERCOT established in 1970 at a time when Preston Smith (DNC) won his second term?

Definition of climate change since I can tell by the first two responses most don't know what it means

Seems like you're the one that doesn't know what climate change means since the first two responses are exactly the same as this:
quote:

Climate change is a long-term change in the average weather patterns that have come to define Earth's local, regional and global climates. These changes have a broad range of observed effects

Ill spare you the natural vs man made climate change as that has adequately been mentioned. I will say though that the people pushing climate change as "science" are also the people who cant seem to grasp that there are only 2 genders, think you can cut your dick off and dress like a woman and that makes you a woman, and that abortion is not the murder of a baby. See how science can be selectively applied?

No, but they will all charter private flights to a “climate change conference” where they will spend their time lecturing us plebs about how much we pollute and how we should pay more taxes and walk to the store instead of drive. Then they will have a big orgy before hopping back on their private charter plane to return home for a week before hopping on another plane to travel to another conference to smell their own farts and lecture us about the problems that WE cause

Sure. There was the Roman warm up period, followed by the cool down of the "Dark Ages," then the warm up of the High Middle Ages, aka the "Little Renaissance," followed by the "Little Ice Age" of the 16th-early 19th centuries. And now here we are, in another warm up period, pretty much right on cue.

Is it reasonable to assume that 7+Billion humans quickly modernizing have some affect on climate? Absolutely.

Is it reasonable to embrace centralized authoritarianism and shun our own local and national sovereignty in some ham handed belief that bureaucrats and politicians will save us all?

frick. No.

It's only a "weather not climate" argument when it suits them

I thought I was supposed to believe in "Global Warming?"

Now it's "Climate Change?"

Does it help that I believe in "changes in the weather?"

Racial inequality is way more false.

There is some truth to climate change, but the doomsday prophets are so screwed up.

I believe the same things that have been happening for billions of years are still happening now, the last few hundred years may have speed up the process just a little but nature will come out on top no matter how smart we think we are.
