So you would rather be burning, suffering, always thirsty, tormented in your own flame instead of having everything and more? I choose heaven where I will have a mansion, all the food I want, no pain and no stress, where I will be loved, probably can fly, and be with the One who created me and gave his own life for me.

I'm all with ya if that's what I believed.

Try reading the Bible. Ask God to show you. That's what I've been doing.
This life can be pretty hard if we have no hope.
And imo there is evidence it's not all by chance.

eternal life in Heaven

Wake up on Saturday Morning and it's Game Day! Tailgating all day, then Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

Wake up the next Sunday morning and spend the day with family and loved ones.

Next morning, wake up on Saturday an it's Game Day!

Repeat for eternity.

Have you watched any of the movies or read books where people died/went to heaven/came back again? I think theres ones about hell too.

How do you know this to be remotely true? Were you around at the beginning? Were you there when they crucified my Lord? Just asking.

I don't want this to get into a religious debate.

Can't really be proven one way or another. What do you tell other religions that believe their books as you believe yours? Which of you are correct? That means lots of people don't believe what you believe and will be damned for eternity. Or it could be you who is following the wrong religion...

True. The older crowd doesn't like feeling old with all the pains and sorrows of their lives. That makes sense. But if you always felt like you did when you were younger, you may remember that you didn't have a full comprehension of what death was then.

That's what I think eternal life brings back, that sense of endless life, which was a great feeling in my youth.

I can certainly adopt that afterlife. As long as Auburn won every week.

I assume our existence would be similar to what it was before we were born. Nothing about you would exist. You just would no longer "be".

I see what you're saying, but the big difference is that, before we were born, we didn't have consciousness. So now that we do have it, how can we just "lose" it without being aware of something?

Like you're saying, it seems our brains just can't grasp that concept.

Me neither but your statement of "fact" made me ask that set of questions. We don't have all the answers to every question so making blanket statements of how or why things are indicates lack of knowledge. Humans have in them an innate desire to worship something. It's omnipresent. Atheists worship no god as their faith indicates. We all want to believe something. Even "non-believers" believe something to be true.

Certainly beats the alternative, eternal condemnation.

No. It didn't just happen. Faith must be tended to and nourished like a plant. Plants don't just die, either.

You would be living your life knowing that every single person you meet, befriend, love, or form a family will die and you will forever exist with that hurt. Not for me, sorry.

I feel bad for you and anyone that doesn't have hope for a future past this life...
You have much more faith than me, to believe there's no creator

I believe humans have an innate desire to make themselves feel better and feel safe. We could have 20 threads on religion of course, but it seems the facts point to nothing really existing. That's why it's based on faith, not fact. I certainly am not an educated religious person. I paid attention in church back in the day, but we all have our opinions on how's and why's I think.

And this is why you root for Auburn because you think they will win. Not fact.

Fact is LSU will win and we can't get you to change. Stubborn.

When you think about Death do you lose your breath or do you keep your cool?

This is the question.

I don't think it's a choice. How do I "trick" my brain into believing something it doesn't.

I need to see a ghost or something as proof that we could possibly exist after death. Heard all kinds of ghost stories from people, but I've never seen a shred of evidence myself.
