It would be fraud if a white person suggested doing something similar, but for dumb Chauna it's just considered helping the needy. Seriously though, that's how they think.

A lot of it was really bad, especially in Scotlandville along Plank Road. There was also some heavy flooding north of the mall on Oak Villa and on Sherwood Forest.

Choctaw supposedly had some heavy flooding because that's where at&t's switchboards were.

This isn't 100% accurate yet... but yeah it appears some parts of North BR were pretty hard hit.

Just take a look at a map of Hurricane Creek around Airline and Winbourne and Evangeline. Those areas along that path (at least) got destroyed. Glen Oaks got destroyed too.

Don't let your white privilege get in the way of understanding when it's okay to break the law and when it's not.

13 people, not including Gary, are in this picture.

76 % of the help, in this picture, are Caucasians helping out a predominantly black community, i.e. North Baton Rouge.

I take no issue with anyone wanting to help others that were severely impacted by the "Great Flood" of Baton Rouge. After all, the majority of people that were affected by this will need help.

However, no sooner than the cleanup efforts are done, Gary will be back on FB posting about "white people this, white people that" when based upon this picture alone, and coming from the source (Gary Chambers) ... one must ask the question ... "Why weren't more black people involved the cleanup of North Baton Rouge?"

Is it really FEMA policy to not give compensation for a damaged vehicle if you own another vehicle that you drove away in?

Is the logic behind it:

A) If you had time to drive it away, you shouldve driven the other one away so it wasnt damaged

or

B) At least you have 1 car that works, people who have 0 are screwed and need the $ more, tough shite.

or

C) Other

I think it is that FEMA is to help you get the necessities, not completely whole again, that's what insurance is for. If you saved one car and not the other, then the one you saved is the necessity, deemed by you, otherwise you would have saved the other one too or instead. FEMA is apparently just concerned about the very basics.

Just a guess based on this thread. Not sure.

FEMA expects all people with a valid driver's license to drive a car out of the water.

What does FEMA want the appropriate response to be?

I believe they want to know if your household has adequate transportation following the flood. While one vehicle might not be ideal, FEMA's determination is that it provides the household with a means of transportation vs. a household losing all of their vehicles.

Based on this information, it appears that FEMA only provides assistance for one vehicle per household.

I'm not going to pretend to know Fema's logic or formulas. They count things like receptacles under water, radios and telephones. No one I've spoken to knows what that means or why it's important.

I know several people who were woken up by neighbors pounding on the door at 1am and basically only had 30 minutes to pack up kids, animals, and a few articles of clothing. When in a panic and stress people want to be together not well 2 people go in this car and 2 in this car.
