The midterm in December only had between 5-8 formulas that could possibly be on it.

The final in May is not cumulative, but there are a lot more formulas that could be on the final. All of the Area formulas, Volume and Surface Area Formulas, Trigonometry ratios, and all of the material dealing with Circles, etc.

Well I have seen a few high schoolers on here. Man if I had the OT at my fingertips in the 10th grade my life would be different now.

Not unreasonable.

However the only practical value for ability to work problems on standardized tests for college.

Not really much use in prep.

There is entirely too much rote memorization in school IMO. But that's just me.

It's probably unreasonable to expect 10 graders to do very much at all given that they don't have much of a clue.

i find that most people tend to meet whatever expectations you make for them.

if they don't, hold them back i guess. i think school after a certain point is overrated for some people. if a tenth grader can't digest geometry i don't think they will gain anything more from the later math classes in hs. send them to a technical school or one of the arts if they show proficiency there IMO.

college for sure is not right for a large percentage of people.

Good luck with that. Kids don't get a good foundation in math at younger ages nowadays.
