True car has the "true price" at $1500 off of sticker. I guess I'm used to buying American trucks which come way more off sticker.

I'm shopping in Dallas area and will start emailing Internet sales managers. When do the 2017's come out? Maybe that'll give me more bargaining power.

I tried haggling with LA auto dealers on '06 for a new PU truck. They hardly budged. Called dealers in Houston and saved > $4k on a new Honda Ridgeline RTL. One way ticket cost $120 and dealer picked me up at the airport. Truck was ready to roll when I arrived.

Louisiana dealers can't compete with Houston dealers. The John Eagle dealership in Houston I bought from said they get a lot of Louisiana buyers for this very reason. LA dealers are too full of themselves.

I saved $8k between sales price and trade in by going to Dallas vs. Courtesy in Broussard. The dickbags at courtesy really didn't want to sell me a car I guess.

Very solid car, but discontinued (low demand) so they're trying to get them off of the lots. Expect a lot a wiggle-room on the price there.

4Runners and Tacomas? Not much at all - demand is through the roof and resale value is way too high. Hell, with the 4Runners if you want something other than a white/black/gray SR5/SR5P/Trail/Limited you could wait a month or more for it to come in.

Create an internet inquiry to get the price on a 2016 Honda Accord LX from John Eagle in Houston, and Richards Honda in Baton Rouge. Richards will destroy that theory.

You are always selling.

Are the new Crosstours nice? What justifies the gap in price between it and the Subaru Crosstrek?

Maybe something in the future will pop up like it, but not anytime soon. All focus will be on the 18 Accord.

It's a Toyota. They make millions of them.

"Haggling" depends upon how well versed or not you are in the negotiations process.

You truly hold all the cards, however good sales people and dealerships will make you feel otherwise as they are able to create a demand and urgency to get you to take action.

they just don't do the volume in La. Like Tx. My buddy was anew car manager at a dodge dealer in ATX. They moved over 300 new cars a month. The great pricing comes in when they get the money on the back end from hitting certain goals. They were very high pressure on the salesmen. They advertised everything pretty damn cheap even cars with no rebates at below "dealer invoice" so they absolutely needed to meet the volume goals. Place was insane. 300 cars on the lot, 700 others at storage lots. Had 2 full time porters that all they did was run cars between lots all day long.

The rav-4 is basically a car, not a minivan.

The Highlander is what you described.

I'm in the market for a small SUV for my fiancee. We're looking at the RAV-4 and most Internet prices are only $1,000 off MSRP. I've been told that you can't really get much off of Toyota's b/c their of their high resale value. Is this true? Also besides Rav4, are Hyundai Tucson's considered reliable? She hates the CRV thinks it looks like a mini van
get a Nissan Rogue or a Mazda CX-5

Research prices paid by people for similar packages, go to Price Leblanc, have them show you a vehicle, let them price it for you, and if it's not where you want to be give them your max you want to pay. I've bought a highlander and tundra from them. They're fair and willing to deal to get a car off the lot. 16's should be getting rebates and such soon bc of the 17s coming out.

Holmes Honda in Shreveport matched and then slightly beat the prior best deal I had negotiated with John Eagle Honda. I think Honda gives rebates to their large volume dealers instead of to the customer.

Will not be buying from here. They may be a great dealership, but we went up and down 45 looking at various cars two weekends ago and spent 20 minutes in their showroom looking at vehicles and was not approached by a single person. Two girls at the front desk were talking to a woman and completely ignored that we were standing right behind them.

I got to see what I wanted, but that annoyed me after a long day of looking at cars.

Lnchbox, keep your opinion to your self instead of throwing my name under the bus because of our difference of opinion from Tundra versus competitors. You have never purchased from me to say anything negative about me. Have had a few members on here purchase from me and have had nothing but positives to say about experience and straight forward I am. Do not harm my reputation about my job, I have worked too hard to build it for you to say something about me that you can not back up

No, you're a doofus because you're an a-hole on here. You probably don't remember the time you were a complete jack arse in a thread to me and seemed like you were posting while shitfaced, but I do. If you're going to constantly troll for business on here, I'm gonna call you an a-hole when you act like one.
