Photos can be cleaned up a little but you cannot create info from something that isn't there. The basic level is one pixel with some color shade. Sometimes you don't have enough pixels to create the image detail you need.

I understand that, I guess my surprise is that we don't have technology that could 'assume' or 'calculate' a zoomed in image to make it clearer. Like let's say you have a picture of a face that's zoomed in with only 25% of the pixels of the full face, I'm surprise we don't have a way to calculate what those other 75% look like. I guess you could manually add them with human trial and error.

Similar to give someone 2 letters in a word, and you can guess the word. It may not be perfect and have multiple options, but it's better than 2 letters.

My understanding is now they have a recording of the killer's voice

quote:

Authorities in Indiana on Wednesday released a haunting, three-word audio clip extracted from video found on the phone of a 14-year-old girl who was found murdered with her friend last week. The video was taken by Liberty Rose Lynn German, 14, who was found on Feb. 14 along with Abigail Joyce Williams, 13, in a wooded area near the Delphi Historic Trail, roughly one-half mile upstream from the Monon High Bridge, where they were dropped off a day before to hang out, Indiana State Police Sgt. David Bursten told reporters. Bursten said a man can be heard saying “down the hill” on the recording, which was played several times for reporters during an update on the double murder investigation that has gripped Delphi, a town of roughly 3,000 people about 75 miles southwest of Indianapolis.

At this point it's obvious the guy in the picture is the right guy. Otherwise he would have come forward and explained how he saw the girls, gave them directions, and then left in a hurry.

That is creepy as hell. I just picture some sicko with a gun forcing those two girls. Damn, I hope they catch this guy.

This is starting to develop into a massive case. I was reading some comments from people who live in Indiana and many of them believe there has been a serial killer running around for years now. The suspect from the picture is now on the FBI most wanted list.

It doesn't look like any one to me.

ETA:

I bet there is a popular drop off location the girls parent let them out at, and he was around there passing through. He followed those girls. I hope they catch him.

Seems like someone would recognize the voice, or offer a tip.

Popo probably has evidence they aren't showing yet.

I know this is a little off subject, but why do young girls and women go to isolated places alone with all the sickos out there? I have two young daughters, and at 12-13 years old no way they'd be walking wooded trails without me or someone who could protect them there with them.

Edit--I know a lady who survived a rape and attempted murder, and she recently was assaulted and tied up again as she was hiking alone in the mountains. Just unnecessary risk IMO. These sickos target women who are alone or even pairs of girls because they know they can easily overpower. They typically won't even try something if a man is present because it's not worth the fight.

Not only that, but some are wondering if the girls posted on media they would be out there that day and the killer saw that info somehow.

Me and my friends used to play on some train tracks very similar to this. Completely clueless to the world.

What happened to the photo? Was it the one of the girl playing on the bridge? If so, I saw nothing
