re: Predict rushing yds for the following: Hurts, Bo, Najee and D. Harris. - tider04
Those are 2012 numbers. Assuming 14 games, that's 260 YPG. Hopefully the right side of the OL progresses.
I'm assuming 15 games. And 250 yards a game for this offense is attainable if the threat of pass is legitimate with Hurts. This may well be the most talented backfield and runnin...

re: Chris Low of ESPN with some interesting reminders re: Auburn to the East - tider04
Mizzou and auburn should clearly swap. Not only does it make sense geographically but the East has become laughably weak. It would balance the divisions slightly. 6-2-1 is the solution but Saban was the only coach with the balls to vote for it last go around. ...

re: LOL at bammers thinking Saban will be coaching at 73 years old - tider04
If anyone could coach at a high level until 75-80 it's Saban. You guys better hope he bows out at 73. I smell at least two more nattys before he hangs it up. That would push him past Bryant and make him the unquestioned GOAT. ...

re: How much do you think Hurts has improved? - tider04
That's great that he won an award last year. Doesn't change that in our 3 post season games he averaged about 100 yards passing per game and completeled less than 50 percent of his passes. That didn't get the job done last year and it won't this year either. His passing actually regressed last year....

re: How much do you think Hurts has improved? - tider04
That's normal for an 18 year old kid learning the college game. The key is seeing progress. Some guys come to college as good as they'll ever be and other guys grow a ton each year. It remains to be seen which Hurts will be. Reading defenses and going through progressions while people twice your siz...

re: Saban: "We're not an elite team right now, we're just an adequate team" - tider04
And Saban is right, this team isn't elite. We need Hurts to continue to make progress in his ability to go through his progressions and make intermediate throws over the middle. We desperately need a RT. And we need a corner other than AA who isn't 5 yards behind the receiver on every deep route. Po...

re: Saban: "We're not an elite team right now, we're just an adequate team" - tider04
Considering Scott was 3/4 and perfect on extra points and we are brining in one of the best kickers this summer I feel fine. The kid from Ole Miss was 6/6 on extra points and 1/1 on FGs last season so hopefully he just had a bad day. Griffith was like 1/6 last Aday and then had a decent season. All ...

re: How much do you think Hurts has improved? - tider04
His deep ball looked 100x better. His ability to go through his reads when his first option isn't open was sketchy. His ability to throw consistent and accurate intermediate passes is still lacking IMO. In short, it looks like he improved 1 of 3 critical areas. If he can get at least one more before...

re: Spring Practice News/Discussion Thread - tider04
He's running 3rd string. Apparently showed up out of shape so he may need spring and summer to get to the place physically where he can compete with some of the monsters we have out there. JUCO guys are like kickers, total crap shoot. Buggs looks like a home run and Elliot...not so much so far. We w...

re: Bama qb battle? - tider04
Hurts is having a good spring from all accounts. Tua is impressive but this is Hurts team unless he hits a wall and tanks. Heck, Mac Jones is reportedly looking stout...maybe our secondary sucks ??...

re: So Bo is 100%? - tider04
Bo isn't taking contact until fall camp. Not worth he risks. We can use the spring to develop our young backs which will be a huge help come fall. ...

re: Bo - tider04
When Bo is healthy and in shape he may be better than Henry. The problem for Bo is he has a LONG list and history of injuries. I'm not sure he's been healthy for a season since middle school and that's a big issue. So even when he got hot, coaches were trying to manage his carries so he would last t...

re: Spring Practice News/Discussion Thread - tider04
Shavers should be a good player for us down the road but I think most people see him as a player who needs a year or two to develop. I mean he has Ridley, Foster, Judy, Cam Sims and others ahead of him with Ruggs and Smith coming in. And Diggs may even switch back over. Our WR group is super deep an...
I saw where Fitzpatrick and Tony Brown were the 1st two coners at yesterday's practice. AA was in the 2nd group. I like Brown at star, but Shyheim Carter might be too talented to keep off the field at the star position. This secondary is one of the most talented Saban has had.[/quot...

re: Spring Practice News/Discussion Thread - tider04
It's amazing how little discussion is taking place regarding spring practice here or on any Bama message boards, really. I guess it's a product of the fact that the media gets like 5 minutes to watch players warm up under Saban--but it does make this time of year pretty boring for fans with very lit...

re: All these 5* RB but..... - tider04
Harris is a power back, and he isn't small. He broke a ton of tackles last year. So did Jacobs really.
Nah, not really. He may develop into one but his broken tackles last year were second and third level because of good vision and moves. He wasn't trucking DEs at the LOS like Hen...

re: All these 5* RB but..... - tider04
Correct. When teams figured out Jalen really couldn't pass beyond 10 yards very well and began to stack the box...our offense began to really struggle against teams with good defenses. Were it not for the fact that our defense and special teams scored so often, we might have lost another game or two...

re: All these 5* RB but..... - tider04
The problem when Bo got hurt is we didn't have another power back. As already mentioned Harris/Jacobs are smaller/shiftier backs that are awesome when they get a hole but pretty ineffective when they have no room. Bo, much like Henry could pick up yards even when hit at the line. You need both t...
