Brings up a curious question. You have to assume that someone who wins has no knowledge of how to set up their winning for maximum profit. I wonder if the lottery has a legal team that can kinda point a person in the right direction.

In order to have it all insured by the FDIC, you'd need 433 CD's of $250,000 each with separate banks.
You'd earn $139,824 a MONTH on those CDs assuming a 1.55% rate found on bankrate.com.

This all assumes Louisiana taxes are taken off the top of a single jackpot winning ticket.

That's a lot of OTing one could do.

Or, just take lump sum payout, dump it in a Cayman bank (no financial or extradition treaties with the USA). Never earn another dime and never even have file taxes again since zero earnings. Live off the principal. How many millions is enough to live a comfortable life after all? (having the money offshore just insures the IRS/state cannot get it through hook, crook, or intimidation).

For me, never having to send another penny into the redistribution/welfare system beats interest earnings and all the paperwork.

my man, If you win, I'll point you to good legal counsel and it will be pretty damn anonymous.

Your legal counsel, CPAs, the IRS and your new Merrill Lynch advisor team will be the only ones that know for fact and your legal counsel will have ironclad confidentiality agreements drawn up for the CPAs and Merrill Lynch.

you know damn well you'd piss that shite away on women and toys for at least 5 years before calming down a bit.

I'd spend the rest of the summer drowning in whiskey and whores ... so much so that Leonardo DiCaprio would get jealous.

Then I'd tell a financial firm to just make sure that I have 3% over inflation for the rest of my life.

Well, even if you set up an LLC, wouldn't the identity of the members, officers etc of the LLC be public record?

This is just your coke money right?

Why would anyone live a middle class lifestyle if they had that money. I mean shite, if you aren't going to use it, at least donate it to charity.

Estimated cash value is 154,000,000. I have 2 kids and a wife I'd split that with so..... my share would be $38,500,000. I'm 40, if I live another 50 years I'll be happy. That means I can spend $770,000 a year or $2,100 a day. I'm pretty sure I could get by on that for the next 50 yrs!

Considering what most lottery winners do with the winnings this isn't that bad.

But if you put 250K at each bank then each time one paid interest, you would no longer be fully insured.
