Answer depends on a couple of things:
1) Is this a 1v1 (or 2v2 rather) scenario? Or should I expect to be fighting hordes of other people, all with their own animals?
2) In a 2v2 fight, is the fight over once the other man is dead, or do we have to kill the animal as well?
If it's 2v2, and all I have to do is kill the other man, then give me a tiger
For anything else, give me an elephant.

You guys are all wrong. This debate has already been settled by history.
The correct answer is the War Horse.

My dog. I don't need an animal to handle up on my bidness, but it would be nice to chill with my dude after I murked everyone else

I'd always have my raccoon tucked into my jacket.

A charging elephant is a force of nature. Having said that, myth busters showed them easily startled by a mouse to the point they would turn to flee. I don't need anything by my side in battle that would be afraid of a damn thing, much less a mouse.

I'll go with Bull Elephant over a Siberian Tiger because of the life expectancy. Silverback would be a terrible choice. A true big cat (Lion, Tiger or Leopard) would rip a gorilla to shreds.
Big cats are inherently cowardly. Ain't no one scaring away a Silverback

meh, assuming for the purposes of discussion that the animal is well trained and motivated to protect you / kill your enemies.
