If you could wipe the slate clean and start over, what would you do?

Say you had the opportunity to start life over with a clean slate knowing what you know now, what would you do differently?

For starters, I wouldn't have a serious girlfriend in high school and college. I also wouldn't get married at 25.
I'd likely do some time in the military as well and try to get into the Navy Seals. I didn't have the drive and determination needed for that when I was younger. I also had way too much of an attitude to deal with anyone screaming at me. I'd have been screaming right back and telling them to go F themselves.

Funny how perspective changes as you grow up.

I think most people live with some regret. I know I do.

That last part is the kicker....Knowing what I know now? WOW! I will say this, HS and college would be extremely different.

Become a doctor.
Not marry at 23.
Have a dog earlier in life.
Invest in Apple in the early 80s.
Exercise more. Eat better.
Never take up smoking.
Travel more when young.
Save. Save. Save.
Write that novel.

I would have listened to all adults when they told me to enjoy school while you can...and applied myself more. I would also like to have seen how good I could have been in baseball had I been more dedicated...and possibly golf.

I'm pretty happy with how things have gone, but I wish I would have put more effort into an instrument or golf when I was younger. I like what I do but being a professional musician or golfer would be more gratifying.

Pick up the guitar at age 6 and start playing and writing.

Stay in Seattle instead of moving back to California in 1973.

Stay with the chick I met in Victoria, BC in 1977 instead of moving on.

I would have joined the military(likely the Navy) and let that pay for nursing school and become a Navy nurse(my asvab scores were actually a decent score for a chick, I had the Navy calling my house in HS to talk to me about becoming a navy nurse). I think the military would have taught me some much needed discipline back then. And it would have gotten me away from bad influences over my life back when I was young and dumb.

Started exercising more when I was younger and not taken my faster, younger metabolism for granted.

Be much more responsible in spending and not rack up a bunch of credit card debt just because it was so easy to get credit cards as a college student back then. Save more.

Probably pick up a hobby like playing music as a young kid or learn how to fly before getting married and having a kid.

I would choose a different career/field. Its not that I hate my field, just my earning potential isn't as high as I wished.

Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing.
