It's an arguement based off of getting paid less to do the same job. I only know the industry I work in. I fully do not believe that women are paid less for the same experience in the same job role. I do believe it may be harder for a woman in my career. Breaking in and feeling comfortable in a male dominated O&G engineering position might be out of a typical woman's comfort zone. But once they are in, they probably get more attention than their equal make counterparts because nerdy engineers never get to see women in the office. So although there are still gender roles that might not be totally PC, there are no issues with pay.

Just as you said, if a company can g et the same results for 23% less money, they're gonna do that. Money doesn't see penises or vaginas.

Yeah, that's the verbiage... but if you look at the data cited those aren't the data that they are using. The 77 cents on teh dollar rhetoric is so misleading because they lump in completely different careers and work weeks to come to that number.

Female engineers fwiw are highly sought after - but in spite of spending lots of money trying to encourage more women to go into the field there seems to simply be a combination of men disproportionately choosing the highest paying available field and women not having as much interest in engineering in general.

It would be nice in some ways to have more men in certain areas that are dominated by women (K-12 education) especially but men have been comparatively harder to interest and retain (perhaps again as a result of money).

Keep in mind that a lot of wage seeking by men (more than women) may be about sex. Men are generally not able to attract their choice of women without a larger income - whereas the sexual options of a woman are largely not affected by her having a lower salaried job.

An office full of women is a nightmare to deal with. My wife has zero men in her office and all they do is hate on each other and complain.

So people have gone through data, put in tons of research and made conclusions, and you disagree with it...just because?

The study doesn't consider the type of job, just income.

It's a very stupid study.

men don't create nearly the drama in the workplace and they call in at a much lower rate. Girl I work with called in this morning due to migraines. second friday in the last three weeks.

That is almost exclusively a women thing.

Why would a company ever hire a man?

Men work better with other men than with women. So if a man is doing the hiring, another man might have that unspoken but real advantage. A lot of companies out there are willing to pay more for an office environment that is most conducive to productivity.

Yep. And anyone that parrots it should be instantly discounted as not having the brain capacity to look below the surface of the number. Of course men make more money than women when you lump them all together just based n job choices alone.

The liberal/progressive plan is working then.

1. Find perceived injustice
2. Badger the public incessantly
3. Elist SJWs
4. ??????
5. Profit

Yeah, and too often this is assessed from a "men don't hire women as much for higher positions because of this." I'm sure that is partially true, but women tend to stall out their careers more often and with more regularity (on purpose) than men do.

Which, to most normal people, is fine. Rational people will go "yes, men and women tend to have different priorities, and it makes sense that over time men would outpace them in earning capability." SJWs go "WHY DO YOU ASSUME WOMEN DONT WANT BLAHBLAHBLAH" and hence we tune them out.

Women, in general, have safe comfortable office jobs/careers. Most of the dangerous, physically demanding jobs are done by men.

I think statistically women work less hours than men weekly.

This. Men build careers to get money to have sex. Women have sex to build careers to get money. It's two completely opposite mindsets with opposing ends.

There may now be a wage gap developing between childless women that actually swings in the favor of women (they are allegedly making $1.08 for every $1.00 of their same age 35-43 year old counterparts).

Yea, you need to actually read that study. Those women were more likely to have more education, more job experience, etc then the men.
